Magnolia Parks: The Long Way Home is the third book in the Magnolia Parks series by Jessa Hastings. This book picks up a bit after the first book ended and continues to follow Magnolia and BJ as they try to find a way back to each other.
First off, I'm sorry but BJ's real name threw me for a loop so much. I didn't expect that to be what BJ stood for but I can see why he took on the nickname.
I really love this series. I cannot explain why but every time I read these books, they're just so addicting to read. I fly through them because I just want to know what is going to happen next. I loved this book a lot. it takes you on such a roller coaster ride from the revelation about 80 pages in down to the ending. The ending had my jaw on the floor and wanting to pick up the next Magnolia book ASAP.
This book series is definitely for anyone who loves rich people drama and messy relationships. This book had me so frustrated with the characters but also understanding them.
I cannot wait to pick up the next book in this series. If you have even a little bit of interest in this series, definitely give it a try as I think it's worth a read.

The emotional damage that was done to me in this book was astronomical. With how things left off in book 1, I knew things were going to be tense. But with all of that knowledge in the forefront, you also get more backstory and knowledge about BJ and Magnolia's past together, and BOY did that hurt. I was in tears multiple times throughout this book, but I still had hope that they would overcome it all. My heart was still rooting for them through everything, but once again--nothing is so simple. The ending of this book WRECKED MY SOUL. I don't think I will ever recover from the pain that it brought me.

Wow wow wow. I am so glad that I am finally back to reading this series. I’ve missed these characters and this world. And what a journey we all just went on.

First, I have to say that putting BJ in therapy and then having him actually give a shit about him and Magnolia repair their relationship by being friends first was the absolute best way to get me back on board with them. And now I’m dying to get to book 5 to see their happy ending once and for all. Additionally, I also loved that we got more of the backstory behind when and where Magnolia and BJ lost track of each other and when/where they fully intertwined their lives. And why they felt they were “written in the stars.” Despite the darkness of their story, it was still so beautiful to get some clarity around their relationship.

I also absolutely *adored* the Daisy/Christian snippets that we got in this book. I absolutely devoured their first book so can’t wait to read book 4 and get their perspective on all the events that transpired.

This book was such a treat to read. All 530 pages. Even when I was frustrated, it was because I deeply cared about the characters and wanted better for them. And then they FINALLY got it for themselves. I was so proud of Magnolia and BJ for finally getting their shit together.

BUT THAT ENDING?! ARE WE FUCKING KIDDING?! I’m confused and angry and concerned. I need to know what’s up immediately. IMMEDIATELY. 🥹🥲💀🤬👏🏼🤯

Now that I know the characters and their individual developments, this book rocked me. This whole series is like a soap opera mixed with Gossip Girls, and it keeps getting better.

The only reason I’m not giving it five stars is because I would’ve loved to hear perspectives other than BJ and Magnolia, but I guess that’s not the point.

December 3rd will never be the same for me.
