This was pretty good.
It could have been better. At some points the story just felt chaotic and not really in a good way. I appreciated the love story between them but it wasn't fantastic.

YES!!! Dax is here with that Filthy British mouth!

I have been waiting to see what his story was and this book did not disappoint!

Loved the angst between Dax & Remi.  It kept me on  my toes of what would happen with the 2 of them.

Yep there is tons of steamy hot scenes, outcomes and surprises I did not expect.

And I enjoyed getting the Point of View from both main characters.  I felt it helped me understand where the both of them were coming from.

Loved this second chance romance of 2 people figuring out how to find themselves, each other and making decisions that will determine their future.

Such a great read to this series.

It's a must read!

It was ok, there's some heavy stuff that I did not care for.

This was cute! It could get a little cheesy and kind of frustrating with soooo much back and forth but ultimately, I really enjoyed Dax and Remi!!

ANGST LOVERS REJOICE! *praise hands*

Filthy English takes the title of my most addicting read of 2016. I couldn't stop, WOULDN'T stop, until I devoured every last word. It was angst gold, and I only wish I could re-read it for the first time again!

Wow. Just... WOW! From the very first page, I was completely sucked in to Filthy English. There are very few authors who can successfully write a story like this - fated love, hard angst, steam like no other - and Ilsa is one of them. It's been 2 days since I finished this book and I can NOT stop thinking about it.

If you follow my reviews, then you know how much of an angst lover I am. I love to write it, read it, live in it - it's my ultimate want in a book. So, I had no idea that's what I was going to get with Filthy English (my first Ilsa book) but MAN OH MAN did she deliver! The steam between these pages y'all... *fans self* WHEW! But as much as I loved them together, I loved the moments they tortured each other even more. When she wears the dresses that drive him mad, when he kisses another girl in front of her just to push her buttons... GAH! YES PLEASE!

Both characters were incredibly complex and thought out, which I truly appreciate. Dax is getting tired of being the frat daddy playboy extraordinaire and is looking for more substance in life. He's on a journey to find purpose, and of course Remi believes in him... which is amazing, but she also drives him insane. She's the one who got away, but he doesn't fully understand everything about that story - which makes for an incredible ride until he finds out!

Remi was simply a bad a*s. I loved that she was tall and curvy, had a fierce attitude, and stood her ground when it came to the men in her life. I really felt for her in regard to her a*shat of a fiance, and I definitely felt every ounce of aching pain and lust and love she had toward Dax. These two together... just... FIRE, y'all!

What I loved most about this book was how addicting it was. As a writer myself, it's very rare that I read a book that makes me not want to stop reading to do my work. This book? I could NOT put it down. I stayed up too late, woke up early to read it, devoured it like my last meal - it was simply incredible. I cherish reads like this!

If you love a well-written love story with angst and steam, this one will be a home run for you, too. 5 OMG-YES-PLEASE stars. Phenomenal!

3.5 Stars!

I really liked this book! Dax was such a great guy and I really enjoyed the character of Remi! This story is a second chance at love. And I wasn't prepared for Dax to be so charming! I loved Remi and her love for her brother.

The pacing was good overall in this book, although I didn't like that, in first year, they fell in love in a weekend and it ended as quickly as it began. Also, I didn't really the Romeo and Juliet vibe I was promised. With the first one, I got the Pride and Prejudice but with this one...no...I didn't get it and I felt kind of shortchanged which is why it's losing a star.

Yes, this review is crazy short because I read this book so long ago!

But I did enjoy this one!

4 stars (low 4...)

I actually enjoyed this book, despite the predictable story line. The two main characters have met - and slept together - before, and even though they both kinda, sorta fell in love, the 'relationship' ended. Years later, fate will have it that they meet up in a bar, on the other side of the world, and sparks fly.

I'm an absolute sucker for romance like this, and I found Dax to be staggering. I loved the easy book flow, and I finished this in one day.

With that said, I gave it 4 stars, because it wasn't one of those books to rock my world, and change my life forever. Likely, I won't remember it in a few months. But all in all, it was a light, easy, enjoyable read.

Sexy 2nd chance. This one had lots of drama: broken engagement, run in with 72 hour stand, attack/robbery, hero, friends agreement, and some much more.
Dax is just terrified about connecting with someone and then losing them. He is alpha and free with his hook ups.
Remi had her heartbroken and then suffered a horrible he loss. She moved on and was jilted. Now she wants to rebound in a day deferent country. But instead she runs into the heartbreaker.
I really liked these two but agreed with her friend “ you two need to just screw already”.
There was a lot going on in this book. I enjoyed the story arc although I wanted them to figure it out before they did.

One night. Two damaged hearts. The passion of a lifetime….

Remi and Dax have a history.
They spend 3 nights together and Remi thought they were in love.
Dax, being the immature male, ran away from Remi and his feelings for her.
What he didn’t know was those nights they spent together had consequences…
I enjoyed the development of the story.
Dax and Remi meeting after so much time, the pain Rami carries the regret Dax holds…
I could identify with Remi's pain, being jilted by her fiancé and now coming face to face with the man she loved who also deserted her.
As the story progresses we learn more about Dax and his life , the reasoning behind his fear of starting a relationship with Remi.
I liked him for trying to change things after learning the secret Remi carried.
An NY book filled with angst and drama Filthy English gets 3 stars from me.

3,5 stars.

I have to say, I expected more.

The first thing that bothered me was how much has happened in one night in the story. The second thing I didn't like was no matter how much Remi cared for Dax, the second her ex came into picture, she took him back. Without a doubt, she continued being engaged to him like they weren't on a break.
I think this story could be better.
