Same old, same old for this series.
Had a laugh here and there.
Stephanie is as useless as she ever has been, woman up already.

3.5 stars. Honestly, I’m read for Stephanie to pick between Ranger and Morelli and have the series by done. It’s pretty repetitive at this point.

The latest (number 8 publishes later in 2021.), but the first I've done as an audiobook. All the entertainment I expect from a Stephanie Plum novel, but I'm not a fan of the reader. I'll go back to the written version for number 28.

The plot is the same predictable one from this series but the characters never disappoint. Potts was a good addition to the cast of quirky misfits.

I always enjoy reading the Stephanie Plum books, even if they are repetitive - they always make me laugh, and this book was no different. I thought the hunt for the treasure was entertaining, and loved seeing that Steph's car karma is still hanging on! Can't wait for the next book!

Overall, the series has been a fun palate cleanser. The last couple of books have gotten old and stale (who will she finally pick, Morelli or Ranger; how many cars will she destroy; what calamity will she get into now), which is saying something for a series built on predictable, formulaic story lines. I tend to pick up these books when my brain is tired or after I finish heavier reads. This one was no exception. I finished it in a couple of hours because you can skim so much of it and not miss anything. This one finished up the plot that started in the previous book.

I think this was one of the better ones in a while. It had some fun new twists and characters.

Best of the series in quite awhile
This seems a return to the style of the earliest books in the series. It was less farcical, although still funny, and more plot driven. I have to say, despite liking the character of Morelli, his general absence as a dominant character in this one helped. In isolated relation to the realm of Stephanie Plum, this gets 4/5 stars.
