I always loved this book as a child because I always frustrated that every.single.fairy tale had a happy ending, and that didn't reflect my life at that point.

I appreciate that it shows that not every story has a happy ending, sometimes there's no real point to something other for it to exist.

I used some of the stories in this book when I did fractured fairy tales with 1st grade. Scieszka is always funny and fun!

A collection of silly, twisted fairy tales, including the Gingerbread Man, Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, and The Ugly Duckling.

Ridiculous renditions of fairy tales that elementary-aged children are sure to love.

I was truly not ready for such a snarky, weird, Lemony-Snicket-esque read. It's so absurd. Kids will love it because it's silly. Adults will love reading it to them because it laughs in the face of so many story tropes. What an experience.

A funny, post modern twist on a handful of favorite fairy tales.
