This is a collection of letters Tolkien wrote his children from Father Christmas. They are delightful and fun. I especially liked the sketches.

What an absolutely perfect way to start my Christmas week! Adorable letters; creative calligraphy, sweet drawings. Tolkien is just perfection

I listened to this as an audiobook (Libby) and it was really good. I liked the voice actor of Santa. I enjoyed the writing by J.R.R Tolkien. It felt like a short festive novel. I would re-read this next year for Christmas!

This was a fun, light Christmas read from one of the great writers of all-time. His letters to his children start simple and becomes gradually more Tolkien-esque as elves get detailed backstories, goblins attack, and the North Polar Bear gets up to ever more shenanigans.
I only wish the correspondence wasn't one-sided and we could see the letters his children wrote to Father Christmas. It would add to the sweetness as they mature each subsequent year.
