The religious imagery was interesting and the author’s experiences captivating, but there were certain elements of mysticism which I found difficult to grapple and which felt unrealistic.

Enjoyable, but a bit too "New-Age-y" for me. I loved The Alchemist. You know how some writers have that 'one book' they're meant to write? I think The Alchemist was Coelho's 'one book,' and subsequent novels are versions of it. But I enjoyed the setting of the Camino, which is on my bucket list.

I was given this book by a dear friend and former mentor. While reading the story of the incredible pilgrimage and quest for spiritual wisdom, I could not help but be reminded of the individual that gave me this book and the lessons they wished me to find in it. This is an outstanding novel filled with many lessons both practical to everyday life and the pursuit of spiritual peace. Anyone who reads this and sticks with it will find themselves not only inspired by this moving story, but also reflecting on how they can apply the meanings to their own lives.
