I'm really conflicted about this one.
I love Brayden's storytelling as well as her characters, even when they break my heart (looking at you, Courtney!).
For some reason though, Beautiful Dreamer and its protagonists did not manage to draw me in as much as their predecessors had.

The dramatic events that set the stage for the first half of the book felt like they were slowing the narrative, and blurring the two leads out of focus somehow. By comparison, when the focus shifted to their relationship in the second half, some developments even felt rushed.
SpoilerHere's me, wearing your scarf, suddenly ready to forgive and forget.

It really sucks that I was not able to enjoy this one as much as I hoped, but I'm sure that's on me.
This is a Melissa Brayden book, and you can be sure it's a good romance even if it doesn't make your favourites shelf.

An honest review thanks to NetGalley. Wow. This book drew me in immediately; Elizabeth's character was outstanding. The sweet, dorkish amazing small town girl, and her passion and pull for her small town and how that drew Devyn to her was outstanding. The plot line kept me, and I loved all the small town charm, it literally pulled me into Dreamers Bay. The connection and attraction between the two characters made this romantic read outstanding, a full five stars, this book met and exceeded all my expectations; you will not be disappointed when you pick it up!

I've been working on reading more F/F so when I saw this on NetGalley, I had to request it. Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an advance copy.

This was my first book by this author but will definitely not be my last. Devyn, a big shot real estate agent, has to go home to the small town she grew up in to take care of a family issue. She really does not want to go. While home, she meets Elizabeth Draper. The two actually went to high school together but Devyn doesn't really remember and they didn't run in the same circles.

What happens next is a wonderful slow burn relationship that starts out as a friendship. Elizabeth is an amazing character and you can see why the entire town is in love with her. She shows Devyn all the town they grew up in has to offer and along the way, the two get closer and closer and eventually fall in love.

If this book is any indication of the author's other works, she has a new fan in me. Definitely smiled a lot and even laughed a few places. A heart warming and wonderful strangers to friends to lovers story.

We’re nursing a specific broken heart, but we’re not punching love in the damn face and telling it to get off our lawn.

A sweet WLW small town romance. I love how they the author made Elizabeth takes her time before taking Devyn back instead of the instant fell back in love right after the breakup part.

A cute and predictable romance that gave me happy, gay feelings even though I didn’t quite like how it ended. :-)

Also, the weird manipulation scene was Very Bad Thing that I did not like.

Fun fact: First book I cried to that uttered the word “doggo.”
