Overall, it was fine. The banter between Autumn and Elijah was nice. I wish there was more time for their relationship to build up, to allow for tension to build (since its supposed to be enemies to lovers). The pacing was fine, it not a little on the fast side.
While I grew to tolerate Elijah, he was a complete ass in the beginning. <Spoiler> He didn't respect Kate's privacy seriously in the beginning and came off like an arrogant ass. Taking her phone, repainting her space, and carrying her over his shoulder? That's pretty bold for strangers. I wish the scene with Elijah's mom happened sooner, as it would've helped the flow.
I did like Kate Callaghan's depiction of chronic illness. It let's you see that when one is in constant pain, it becomes more about getting through and surviving. One forgets to truly live.
There were a lot of subplots that were getting attention, that they all fell a little short. It's a romantic Suspense, but the Suspense felt like a little bit of an afterthought. I wish there was more, instead of it all happening at the very end.

What can I say? Kate Callaghan did it again. I couldn’t put this book down. I was so invested in Autumn and Elijah’s story that I stayed up until 2am two nights in a row reading. There was just enough spice to keep things entertaining and fun, plus a bonus of elements of a thriller. This book is not your typical romance novel.

Tropes:
~ enemies to lovers
~ forced proximity
~ he falls first and harder
~ grumpy (her)/sunshine (him)

What I enjoyed the most was how relatable both Autumn and Elijah are. I can see both of them as actual human beings walking around the neighborhood and living their lives. I relate directly to Autumn since she lives with chronic pain. Hers was brought on by a horrible accident while mine is a medical condition. It still doesn’t make the pain any different. When you have a chronic illness, you don’t want to feel like a burden on the people in your life or be treated differently, so you constantly tell everyone that you’re perfectly fine even though you aren’t. Autumn has spent much of her life doing that and even ignores/waters down things that should be concerning. Woo, I feel you, girl. She does eventually notice that there’s been one person who hasn’t treated her any different seen they’ve met, and I think it helps heal a part of her that she didn’t think could be.

The thriller elements of Ms Perfectly Fine were totally unexpected, but I absolutely loved it. It didn’t feel out of place at all. I mean, what famous person doesn’t have a weird fan at some point in their career? When it all came together and the big ending happened, I couldn’t believe it. I was so upset for Autumn. All she wants is to live a somewhat normal life, but things and people just keep getting in the way.

Overall, I love Kate Callaghan’s books and this one surely didn’t disappoint. I will be buying myself a hard copy as soon as I can.

Thanks to NetGalley and Kate for this arc in exchange for an honest review.

I'm unsure which I loved more; Autumn and Elijah's banter or their instant chemistry. It may have been Elijah's unwavering care for and interest in Autumn. I just can't decide, but I know they have quickly become my favorite couple.

I appreciated the chronic pain portion of the story. While I'm sure there are books about chronic pain and illness, I'm not sure I've read many books where the main character has to deal with it daily. It gave me a new perspective on something I'm unfamiliar with, and I'm grateful for that.

I liked that there was a little mystery that I didn't fully expect or see coming. It was perfectly intertwined with the other storylines and added something extra that helped round out a great book.

Kate Callaghan's romance books are quickly becoming an auto-read for me. If you haven't checked out this book or The Naughty or Nice Clause, you're seriously missing out!

Thank you, Kate Callaghan, for the opportunity to read and review this book!

𝗧𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝘀: reverse grumpy x sunshine, he falls first, hates everyone but her, forced proximity, enemies to lovers

𝗧𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗴𝗲𝗿𝘀: trauma, stalking, chronic pain

I really liked this book.  It's super cute, with a little unexpected plot twist.

Autumn is a well-known pianist, who is intensely preparing for a comeback after a traumatic incident that affected her both mentally and physically. She is also very stubborn and likes to do things herself, but now it's time for her to heal.

Elijah is very charming and loving. He is trying to build a tech company, without his father knowing. He is attracted to Autumn's mysteriousness, and does not hesitate to show her that he is there for her.

Their relationship is super cute, natural and funny. They both catch feelings for each other sooner or later, but although Elijah is the first to reveal them, he waits for Autumn until she is ready to take the next step.

Thank you Kate Callaghan, Independent Book Publishers Association (IBPA), and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this amazing book in exchange for an honest review.

I really duping enjoy this book. But I’m not sure I’d classify it under romantic suspense. There was a little suspense and a little Mystery but mostly it was a romance. That being said I loved the romance between Autumn and Elijah. After the first chapter I hated Elijah after reading the second chapter I truly loved his character and was rooting for him.  I also loved autumn determination to not let her Chronic Pain get her down.  I don’t think I’ve read a story that had a character with chronic pain so it was nice to see it written in a story.  I loved Elijah though his determination to when Autumn in the end was very endearing to me.  The novel mentions past trauma, chronic pain ,and stalking.  It ,may be a trigger for some but I don’t feel it was overly done.  I would have like to had a bit more of the suspense/mystery in the story. I’m also tend to read closed-door romances so while I enjoyed the story I wish I had a heads up that the romance had steamy open-door scenes.  All in all the story was well written and ends with a happily ever after.

This was a very interesting and hooking romance that was set up with enemies to lovers and forced proximity. Two characters focused on their career and both with their own secret… With the inclusion of a mystery and a thriller mixed in, this took the romance on a twist making it a gripping read. Autumn tragic past and chronic pain was approached effectively, highlighting the struggles of people who suffer from it, in a "world [that] isn’t built for those of with chronic issues." I really enjoyed how the first person narrative switched between the two protagonists which built up the tension and angst between the two and heightening the romance.

Many people tend to prefer romances to stay in its’ own genre but I love the inclusion of a suspenseful mystery mixed in. Later on in the novel, the dual pov served as a great way to build up suspense as a looming threat was foreshadowed. The promise of a stalker had me hooked as I was trying to figure out who it could be as subtle hints were dropped throughout - keeping me intrigued with Autumn’s backstory. The build up of suspense didn’t distract from the romances and instead, highlighted it more. This was a great read which reflected the importance of embracing who you are, letting go by remembering the good moments and that “there is beauty in mistakes”.

Many thanks to Kate Callaghan for sending me this ARC in exchange for a review.

Try this contemporary romance story if you like;
• Forced Proximity
• Grumpy x Sunshine
• Enemies-to-Lovers
• Spicy Moments

The plot is simple and cute with easy to read writing style.
I also admire how Autumn overcome the pain she had to endured each day for years and still determined to pursue her dream in the music industry even though it’s taking a toll on her body every day.

I enjoy the bantering and interaction between the two main characters, Autumn and Elijah. They also have their sweet moments that manage to make me smile throughout the story. Not just the sweet moments, they also have their hot and spicy moments!

While I like some parts of the story, I wish some things are more developed.
This book has an enemies-to-lovers trope in it but I kinda wish the enemies part are longer. They fall for each other too fast for my liking.

The suspense part also wasn’t really there for the first half part of the book. It was mentioned but it wasn’t being brought up more until the last few chapters of the book. The mystery was slightly predictable and it was ended slightly rushed too.

Overall, it’s still a good romance story. I still find it pretty enjoyable and some parts makes me keep reading it until the end.

If you’re looking for a sweet and quick read with a pinch of mystery, you can check this one out.

I received an advanced review copy for free through Netgalley, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. Huge thank you to the author and publisher!
