If the Hunger Games and The Bachelor had a baby. I know that sounds terrible, but it somehow is brilliant. One of my personal favorites. This book is the kind that transports you from the very beginning. You will laugh, cry, seethe and rejoice alongside these characters as they go about their story. I reccomend this book to pretty much everyone I've ever met.

Was a very easy read. And enjoyed reading this. I didn’t give it five stars because I was able to get distracted while reading this. Very curious about ‘the elite’

Did I stay up all night sick and finish in less than 24 hours? yup. Excited to see where the next one goes? yup. Sucker for a genre where the country has collapsed and life sucks for every single person? yup

I remember reading this when I was younger and LOVING IT...so I gave it another go. It’s been sitting on my shelves for years, after all.

My taste has definitely changed. And my appreciation for depth has also increased. I can understand why 16 year old me adored it...but, alas, ten years later - it’s time to move forward. Growth, maturation...whatever you want to blame, this book just wasn’t for Current-Me. Shallow dialogue, very little ACTUAL worldbuilding, and a plot that’s wispy thin. Still gave it 3 stars for nostalgia though. I’m not completely reconciled with its letdown yet. Sigh...Do I finish the series?

Goodbye, Younger Me. Let this one fly, baby.

Re-read #1
I have no idea what I originally loved in this book, it was horribly boring and predictable.

okay so was this any good? no. but it sure as hell was entertaining!
america was… something. so were all the other characters. but honestly it was such a fun read! like it was the epidemie (idk how u spell this lmao) of 2015 dystopia era, with the classic “shes not like other girls” and “love triangle” and “shes poor and from a low class” but thats exactly what i was expecting so i didn’t mind it you know??? anyways this was super entertaining and thats all i can say about it.
