A cute and light read that follows the two leads as they meet and become close friends over the course of a school year. The romance isn't super present here yet, with only the barest hints of it appearing. My main issues with the novel are that the writing is a bit lackluster/plain (likely translation issues) and that it jumps around a lot (making the timeline confusing). Loved all the art!

Cute and sweet, loved the little room diagram at the end. Favourite part was Kagiura seeing Hirano cross dressing.

Cute and helps set the scene for the manga, although you don't have to read this before jumping into the main series. It was nice to get a better idea of Hirano's perspective when it comes to Kagiura, and I was delighted to see Sasaki pop up!

And they were roommates...

Sweet, sweet short novel that cured my (awfully persistent) reading slump. Sasaki and Miyano was truly a treat of a good slow burn young love that all of the characters deserve their own story.

Some parts of the book were included in the Sasaki and Miyano anime (series and movie) that were truly enjoyable, but I could use an OVA or short anime length treat of the two.

Refreshing reading experience!

I LOVE THESE BOYS SO MUCH!!!! I ran to this when I saw it in store because waiting 3 months for the manga to update kills me. After reading this, I feel even more inclined to say Hirano is in DENIAL. Absolutely.

Knocked off a star for the writing. It’s simple and that’s okay, but it seems like there are a lot of missed opportunities to show not tell. It’s a light novel so I’m not too disappointed by it, but I also think descriptions could’ve been fleshed out a bit more.
