Ah, FAKE, my utterly problematic love. In the first volume, we're introduced to the main characters, Dee Laytner and Randy Ryo Maclean. And, because this is a BL manga, we're also introduced to Dee's obstinate refusal to take "no" and "stop" for answers. It's not too bad in the first manga - just a surprise kiss - but it does ramp up throughout the series, making the main pairing super problematic. But the characters are nicely developed, and, unlike a lot of other BL manga, a lot of the story actually revolves around their work as detectives in the NYPD.

I love Fake so much. It's another one of my favorite m/m manga. The story involves Ryo and Dee, two cops who have just been assigned as partners. Dee is headstrong and boisterous while Ryo is much more laid-back and quiet. Dee develops feelings for Ryo and pretty much makes advances towards him for quite a bit of the series. The stories are your typical cheesy manga stuff but Dee and Ryo's relationship is really cute. It's an older series with some aged art inside but it's still well worth a read.

The humour that this manga uses is similar to Gravitation by Maki Murakami. Recommend if you enjoyed that series. This manga isn't objectively good but I had a bit of a chuckle and it kept me entertained. The characters pace in which they fall in love is completely wack. No offence but I don't think it is quite normal to invite someone you just met into your house and then start throwing the word love around. I guess don't read it for its accuracy in life.

I've heard a lot of good, nay, great things about this series and this is enjoyable (I mean, it's a buddy cop manga about two cops who eventually fall in love - what's not to love?). I'm definitely going to read more of this.

For purely brain-in-bucket silliness to distract me from all the stressors of the real world, this was the perfect book. Extra points for the nostalgia since I first read it in high school.

I'm really enjoying this series. I like all the characters, and the criminal cases are interesting and introduce the new characters well. I look forward to reading the next volume.
