I know I should not rate this because it is about others lives but it was so heartbreaking to hear and read about the way people are treated because of their religion in other countries and cultures. I will recommend this book forever.

Across the world, Christians are persecuted for their faith. This book gives "faces" to the women of the persecuted church. Eight courageous ladies with a costly faith. Adel, and Indonesian mother kidnapped by Muslims, separated from her husband, beaten and forced to marry another man. Purnima, a young believer in Bhutan, forced to leave her family because of her faith. Aida, a Russian woman with the courage to stand before the courts and defend Christianity. Sabina, a Romanian wife separated from her husband who is imprisoned because he dared to stand up for Christ. Tara, A Pakistani Christian hunted by her own father because of her conversion. Ling, a Chinese believer schooled in the classroom of suffering. Gladys, a missionary to India who demonstrated God's forgiveness after her husband and sons were murdered. And Mai, a Vietnamese girl who dared to return to her native land to share the gospel.

This is an amazing book that offers a glimpse into lives of everyday heroes of the faith. Women who sacrificed, and continue to sacrifice, everything for their Lord and Savior. Inspirational and challenging. I highly recommend it!

This is a heartbreaking and inspiring collection of stories about truly courageous women. The faith of these women, even in the midst of horrific persecution, torture, imprisonment, and humiliation is very convicting. Would I do the same in their place? Would I stand strong for Christ, despite such pain and grief if I did? I don't think I would, and this book reminded me and challenged me to continue to grow closer to Christ, and to be prepared to do anything to further the Gospel.
It's not an easy read, but I definitely recommend it to anyone seeking to be inspired to grow in their faith.

What a great combination of stories of these women who showed immense courage and bravery sharing the gospel of Jesus! Each story brought me into the woman’s heart and showed her passion for her faith as well as her deep dependence on God has her comfort and safety. These stories are just a small reflection of the depth of blessing we have to be born here in the United States with the freedom to love and serve Jesus any way we choose.

A very good and interesting book, with many impressive stories. Please note that there is a bit of mature content, so it may not be appropriate for younger readers. But it is still a very nice book!
