Philomel Cottage was the stand out here. Genuinely enjoyed it and the story stuck in my mind after reading, just pondering the reliability of the narrator.

The Second Gong was definintely improved upon in the novella, Dead Man's Mirror. The pacing was just a bit too fast in The Second Gong here which left zero time to really get into it.

A good number of the stories involve
elements of cons/conmen
which I found entertaining. I saw some of them coming but in at least one specific instance I found myself delighted by the ending
you thought you had it all figured out didn't you. Nope, you are even worse off now you dumbass and if you just sat there and ate your food you'd have been rich in two months you buffoon.

A good mix of fun mysteries and just a bit too short stories.

Series of short mysteries. Enjoyed the first one. Couldn't get into the next couple

Most of the stories were 3 star stories, but a few stood out to me as 4 star stories, including The Mystery of the Blue Jar, The Second Gong, and of course, The Witness for the Prosecution. A very fun read, I am a fan of Christie’s short story format!

A nice collection - tons of overlap with The Last Seance, but read for the final story as part of my Piorot reading.

Includes the best Christie short story (in my opinion) Philomel Cottage.

This is a really excellent collection of stories. Usually there are a few stories which I don’t enjoy very much in these collections but each one of these was fascinating. I especially enjoyed The Fourth Man, SOS, and Wireless.
