for me

This book was okay. The beginning was interesting. The middle was okay. The ending was eh. It overall was kind of disappointing. I was expecting a lot more. The plot line were kind of lackluster. Overall it was eh. 2/5

I was looking for a new favorite hockey romance series and this one had a lot going on in it that toed the line of creepy/sweet while also toeing the line of taking certain parts too far.

I had the pleasure of listening to the audiobook of Anton, and it did not disappoint! The story is well written and I really think experiencing a narrated version really adds to the experience.

Anton, a gorgeous yet celibate hockey player, is pining after his team mate's wife, Mia. He bumps into her by accident at a bar she is working at, and the rollercoaster starts there. Spicy, sporty, witty, all the good things you want to experience in a book!

mf - contemporary romance - hockey romance - class gap - biracial FMC - infertility - abusive ex husband - slow burn - 5 stars. Honestly, this book should not have worked for me. But it 100% did. I was addicted, something about the way Anton was head over heels in love and Mia is a pretty bad ass heroine.

Spent a pleasant afternoon with Anton and Mia. Anton's the Captain and center for the Chicago Blaze and Mia is his teammates estranged wife. FYI: no cheating occurs but there is an abusive asshole and a curmudgeon Uncle and several racial slurs. :( If you enjoy a slow burn romance where abusive men are dealt with appropriately. This one's for you!

*I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review*

This was my first Brenda Rothert book and now, I’m a big fan! I love my Hockey Romances and this one was so swoony! 😍😍
🏒
Anton Petrov is the Captain of the Chicago Blaze hockey team. And he has eyes for only one woman. The problem is, that woman is married...to his teammate.

Mia Marceau is working on herself and putting her life back together once she separates from her cheating, jerk of a husband. She’s doing her best to balance work, school, and family while trying to avoid her husband, who tries to make things harder for her.

One night, Anton walks into the bar where Mia works. He sees her. She sees him...it’s the beginning of an amazing story, right?!
I won’t spoil anything for you, you’ll have to pick it up to find out what happens between these two. ❤️
🏒
I will say, I enjoyed this story very much! The main characters were wonderful, their interactions with each other, with other characters, everything about them was wonderful! Then there’s the supporting characters, I absolutely loved them! They gave the story an extra layer of awesomeness! The minute I finished the book I needed to know who’s story came next because I NEED to know more about these people. I NEED their stories!
🏒
If you love a swoony romance, if you love hockey romance, if you love romance period, I’d recommend checking this book out! ❤️
