Beauty and the Beast meets Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet with a dash of The Little Mermaid in this fantastic alien romance novel. Set in the far distant future on a colonized planet that has lost its connections to the other worlds, we follow the story of Macy and Jax as they grow to understand one another and breach the barriers between their two species. The Tiffany Roberts team has done it again with an absolutely amazing story that captivates the reader through both the environment and the characters. The spice was, of course, excellent as well. I also greatly appreciated the healthiness of their relationship. Both Macy and Jax recognized and attempted to rectify mistakes made and continued to choose one another. Their relationship was sweet and wholesome, and watching two outliers find a home in one another is always a pleasure.

I didn't expect this short monster novela to be so entertaining.
Quick and easy moster book to read, for in between other reads.

Sweet spicy alien/monster romance. More indepth plot and character dev than IPB.

The MMC has Tentacles, that is all i have to say.

This was a quick and easy read. I enjoyed it for what it was and I may continue the series later on. A good monster romance to hop back on that train.

I don't care for Macy or Jax. I guess the underlying Stockholm syndrome element is just too off putting too.🤷🏾‍♀️I dont even know if I'd come back to the story at a later time

This was a decent alien romance. Characters were mellow. Even when they were being hauled away to "prison". Nothing spectacular about the storyline or writing. Nothing to wrap my tentacles around. The storyline was very predictable down to sex at the 50% mark of the book.

I have no urges to continue this series. I was really excited to buy this based on several reviews and word of mouth. I just couldn't find where that excitement was while reading it.

Cute story, good plot, but I felt it lacked a bit of spark in terms of spice. However, I liked the plot behind the kraken and the situations both characters went through. They gave a good start to the series The Kraken. For some reason, pieces of this story reminded me of The Little Mermaid when Macy ends up in the cave with all the human artifacts found by Jax—that part reminded me of The Little Mermaid. Both Jax and Macy grew as characters as the story progressed, and their growth as a couple was also excellent, although I would have liked them to interact a bit more before being together. But everything fit well with their story. The way Jax was willing to do anything for Macy was perfect—it completely stole my heart. Their story gave us the introduction to the other characters that follow in this saga, which I am more than excited to read.
