Yay, I have found a Dickens novel I adore! Despite its rather daunting length, and Dickens being true to form and being rather verbose...I really looked forward to picking this one up each day. I loved the cast of characters. The humour that was throughout, and often stemmed from innocence, had me chuckling a lot! I was also reduced to tears on occasion, but would then be lifted back up. Such a good book, and so glad I have persevered with Dickens!

This book is an absolute triumph and I would highly recommend reading it with (or alongside) Richard Armitage's narration for Audible.
I haven't quite process my thoughts on the whole novel - other than I'm still uncomfortable with the way Dickens writes young women... However, I loved this book a lot more than I was expecting, I only took off a star because I LOATHED the way Dora, Emily, and Agnes were written in places.
Nevertheless, I had a surprisingly good time reading this and I have officially joined the Betsey Trotwood fan club!
