I was excited to read this book as it was written by a flight attendant. I'm sorry to say, it was definitely written by a flight attendant. I just couldn't take the number for cliches packed into one book. I thought I was reading the most predictable remake of 24 combined with Air Force One.

Still better than The Book Thief, though.

Book club book for September! Whew! I was tense the whole time reading this but it was great! Very glad I waited until after my recent flight to read this! And very interesting to read right after going to the 9/11 memorial and museum.

this was just... mediocre. the narrator did everything for me, but the plot is definitely nothing new. i didnt needed it to be new, but just a different and interesting take on the whole "someone is taking a plane hostage and the pilot is in a moral dilemma of choosing between his family and the plane". it was decent, definitely not bad and a good and easy book to consume when you need a mindless read and dont want to think too hard. some of the characters were likeable, mainly the flight attendants. i get the legitimate beef that sam has with the us and id like this more if this would have been a critique but this is just a thriller and would have probably been better suited in another genre.

Falling by T.J. Newman 4/5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐
This was pretty good. I liked the multiple POVs and the overlying message was great. Humanity's okay given a chance but I found the ending a little unrealistic.

The idea of airplanes being hijacked has been bitten to death and, even though this book is action packed, I found it not interesting as the subject was explored far too many times. Also, the attitude "i am a good American and i am not going kill anyone, I am going to save them all" it was fun in Die Hard (1, 2nd, 3rd). A book in 2021...kinda late in the game, not really buying it.
