An interesting perspective on world history from 1935. There are a few moments that feel outdated but overall I feel like the author looks at history from an unbiased perspective. The additional chapter added to the end was my favorite part, as he added it to address history after the book was published (specifically World War II). He reflected on how his perspective of history shifted over time and emphasized just how much clarity comes in hindsight. The book is also written for children, so I found it to be an entertaining and easy read.

Unfortunately, this is a history of the Western, Christian, male world which hasn’t aged well at all.

It is a good overview of history, although some parts are glossed over, while others go too in-depth. It helps you get a broad, simplified narrative of human history. I wouldn't say that any hardcore history nerds would enjoy this, but more for those who are casually interested in history.
