I finished the book because I was curious to see what would happen, if only to confirm all my suspicions from the start. It was just so predictable. Reading it felt like watching a low-budget made-for-tv thriller. There we no thrills.
The characters were all completely unlikeable too, so that didn't help.

This wasn't my favorite Ruth Ware book but still enjoyable. Creepy, atmospheric and although I guessed the killer about 3/4 of the way, I didn't anticipate the "why" which was a surprise

I was surprised this book annoyed me as much as it did, given how much I like some of the author’s other work. But sadly - it annoyed me. The protagonist makes decisions no person would ever make.

I read this a few years back, way before I ever was part of the “bookstagram” community and the Goodreads community as well, so I had absolutely no idea what this book is about. I didn’t read any reviews or anyone’s thoughts/opinions. That being said, I think it was the best way to read this book.

The perfect book to read during the winter season and when one is alone!

It’s so atmospheric. I absolutely love the setting and the mood of the story. I love the changing perspectives of the main character but in completely different state of minds and different times. I love the fact that the reader can’t trust the main character either, and that the story gives the reader multiple characters to figure out who is the suspect. Yes, it’s a bit of a cliche, but honestly the atmosphere and the pacing of the story overpowers it and I think it makes a great pop-corn read!!

This book was slow to start, and I half wanted to give up on it because it seemed like it was just trying to be another Gone Girl or The Girl on the Train. And in some ways, it was. But in many ways, it was even better. The twist at the end felt much more satisfying to me than The Girl on the Train's. I felt like the author created a better narrator/main character. Nora was much more likable but just as unreliable. I like how she began to doubt herself and consider herself as a suspect because it made Nora's confusion more real. The structure of the novel was also cool because it jumped back and forth in the timeline with no clear indication of what was happening. It was confusing at times but really represented well how jumbled Nora's thoughts and memories of the whole incident were. Overall, I enjoyed this novel a lot more than I thought I would, and found that I liked it a lot more than The Girl on the Train. This one is worth reading if you're a fan of the genre.
