Well this was so disturbing I don’t really know what to think or what to say or where to start? I’ve read disturbing books before, but okay.

The Cement Garden has mood and atmosphere to spare. It teems with things under the surface left unsaid, and plays an effective trick in which the unthinkable is made to seem rational. An exploration of decay in many forms. This was a weird, unsettling, and fascinating read.
