I didn't read the Harry Potter books until I was seventeen, but ever since then I have never quite been able to live in the real world. I still believe my letter to Hogwarts was lost in the mail....Or the owls thought it was too hot to come to San Antonio to bring it to me. Either way, I count Harry, Ron, Hermione, Luna, Hagrid, and the Weasleys as some of my best fictional friends.

Read the whole series with the kiddos at bedtime. Took us months. Positive themes of friendship, family and putting others before yourself.

I absolutely love the Harry Potter series! I had a great time reading them and getting to know the characters better with each edition. I could never put a book down. It's sad to think I will never read about these characters again. : (

I finally finished up to book six of Harry Potter. All of the recommendations were right on. The series is enchanting, charming and a delightful read. Time for book 7.

All time favs. Should've read them earlier but still enjoyable at 19.

Like the way Rowling builds up concepts and stereotypes and then tarnishes it all by presenting a counter concepts. I especially like the Dumbledore-harry conversations towards the end of each book which neatly encapsulates the philosophy and logic behind each book.

One of the stories from my childhood, it still thrills me when I re-read the book. Truly magical.
