Debut novel?

I read the spin-off series of Gold Rush Ranch prior to coming back to read this one. I do believe this is the author’s debut novel and I’m glad that I read the others first because I could see how much the author has progressed in her writing. Off to the Races was good, overall, but I was bored through much of it. The writing was great, but there was too much time not “active”. I am still looking forward to reading the rest of the series!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I was craving a good cowboy romance and Elise did not disappoint! I loved this book.

I quickly fell in love with Billie's spunky attitude and knew it was only a matter of time until she broke down Vaughn's walls. Their banter was simply chef's kiss and I found myself smiling and laughing as I was reading their interactions.

I loved the horse racing world and the small, quaint ranch community that Elsie developed in this book. It felt so real, like I was right there with them.

I saw the third act breakup coming and usually hate them, but I admired how this one was handled. It felt real and true to the characters that Elsie had created and I LOVED the way Vaughn chose to mend their relationship after it was all said and done.

I thought this book was the perfect amount of spice and plot and I was sad for it to end. I'm so excited to continue the rest of this series!
