This was not at all what I was expecting, I’ve had this book on my bookshelf for a while so that might be why.  It was just kinda meh for me.  There were some good parts like the friendships that were made with the team, but there were also some annoying parts like all the texts with Coach.  It just seemed to drag on a bit, the Coach was creepy af and I just was more annoyed about it than anything else.  The switching POV was nice, it was a bit confusing at times but nothing too bad.  The cover was stunning though.

Way better than I expected! I ended up finishing this in one go, which is rare for me (these days). Perhaps I'm a little bloodthirsty, but I kinda wish the girls had been able to
get revenge in a more shocking, punishing way, especially since he indirectly hurt (physically!!! and emotionally) numerous girls. Like... he ended that girl's athletic career.
Ultimately, they knew exactly what would
bother Coach,
and I guess they didn't need to
expose him to his peers, because he wasn't getting job offers anyway.

We are the Wildcats is the story of a highschool girl’s varsity hockey team. It unfolds in the 24 hours before the first game of the season and is told from the perspective of six different players. Plenty of flashbacks are folded into the plot. What quickly becomes apparent to the reader is that Coach, who is beloved by the girls and seen as tough but only to get the best out of them, is in fact a manipulative, controlling, abusive, predatory, self-centred a$$hole. Sadly it takes the girls quite some time to put all the pieces together and realise just how wrong his behaviour is and how he has put his interests ahead of theirs. The ending is a cathartic delight - a triumph of team work and girl power. Although, I still wish they’d pummelled him their hockey sticks!
