It took me a bit longer to get into this last book in the Dragon Heart Legacy series, but eventually I did and it proved to be an entertaining read! I enjoyed seeing how things played out with Breen and Keegan. A nice wrap-up to the trilogy and definitely a must-read for fans!

A heartwarming read, sad I finished reading it so fast.

Did I love this series? Yes. Do I still want to criticize some aspects of the plot? Also yes. May contain spoilers.

I felt all throughout the series, especially in this book, the plot was overexplained to the reader. Who Odran was and what he was doing was repeated time and time again. Sometimes I wondered if this was meant for a younger audience, then I got to the numerous sex scenes and changed my mind.

Also, demons?? That was such a random plot point and it added nothing to the plot other than Breen thinking for some time that she could be evil. (would have been fun to do something with that but alas..) Odran straying to the dark path was a perfectly reasonable explanation as to why he was what he was in my opinion.

Overall, I would classify this as an easy read because even though bad things happened, the good guys always seemed to have the upper hand, especially with Breen's very onpoint visions. The bad guys, despite using every underhanded trick they could think of, were always still two steps behind.

*cough* demon baby *cough* .. that scene was traumatising.

The romance for every other character in my opinion was well executed except for... The main couple. They had their moments but for the most part the chemistry wasn't really there for me. If they weren't training, they were either bickering, having sex or talking about how to save the world. They very rarely had moments where they actually had decent conversations, so their romance wasn't very immersive . In book 1, I didn't really see it coming, when they randomly slept together I just sat there, flabbergasted.

And my final comment, that ending?? Overall felt a bit rushed, and I really would have liked to see the 'after', at least Marco and Brian's wedding.

I felt like the book was really uneven. There were great portions and then the ending felt like the author just gave up.

DNF @ pg 318. I can’t believe I read as far as I did- only a little over 100 pages left and nothing has happened. This is a disappointing and anticlimactic end to a trilogy that probably should have cut the filler and just been a stand-alone novel.
