What a powerful ending. Extremely sad but also hopeful.

I live in the States and has attended public education here, so unsurprisingly, I know very little about Indigenous history. Highly recommend this series. I miss it already.

This series is fast-paced but heavy!
This last book of the series had a lot more dialogue than the second and third books. What really stuck with me after reading this novel was a Metis classmate saying
"We've already survived the apocalypse. This is us living in a post-apocalyptic world."

Never considered that before with diaspora stories, and it really gave me something to reflect on.

Really nice wrap-up to the series. Echo is aptly named as we find she's a direct descendant to the people we've been meeting in past issues.  Liked how the topic of generational trauma is brought up, yet there is hope for the future. The character Micah mentioning that the indigenous people are living in a post apocalyptic world also resonates.  Overall enjoyed the story of Echo and leaving about the Metis people.

I had previously read The Marrow Thieves by Cherie Dimaline and her characters are Metis, so it's nice to see where they come from too.

This was my favourite of the series. I think this really brought together the other three graphic novels, and the history of Métis past and present. Following Echo you understand her feeling pain and sorrow, but also experiencing resilience.
