I liked this overall, but it’s definitely not my favorite Lucy Score book, and I didn’t enjoy this one as much as the first of the series.
What I loved:
•Recovery for Gloria and Aldo - separately and together
•Finding strength in friendship
What I didn’t:
•Too repetitive from the first book
•Weird stop-and-go pacing
•Not realistic amputee recovery timing

Gloria and Aldo's story was so so incredible. I loved both of their character development and how they didn't let past trauma keep them from being happy with one another (for the most part). There was a lot of vulnerability throughout this book and I think Lucy handled these heavy topics with grace and care. I also enjoyed how it progressed over the same timeline as the first book. It was nice to get their story while Harper and Luke's was happening in the background because I feel like they were all so connected anyway. Gloria and Aldo were so gone for each other and I loved it. I felt so much power from Gloria as she took back the best qualities of herself. This was truly as journey of healing and empowerment and I was here for it!

I loved Harper and Luke’s story and was so excited to read Aldo and Gloria’s but it fell short. I didn’t like that basically the entire book was just the same dialogue we already read in Pretend You’re Mine just from Aldo and Glo’s perspective. I already knew what happened the entirety of the book because it all happened concurrently with Harper and Luke. Nothing new was revealed here. I also didn’t really like Aldo like I did Luke. I also felt like the domestic violence Gloria lived through was glossed over in favor of the romance. DV is such a serious topic and this book just seemed to leap over it and focus more on the romance.

This book was so much slower than the first one. It was much harder to connect with Gloria, but I loved Aldo in the first book and this one!

I didn’t hate the book, but I felt like I was re-reading Pretend Your Mine. The first book had so much info about Aldo and Gloria that this book really didn’t have much to fill in, except from their perspective. Just overall a long read that I had I push myself to finish. There were some parts that were new to me, but overall it just didn’t do it for me.

I loved this book so much. It had so much healing. I have been in a similar situation as Gloria, and to see the growth and healing that she did for herself when she had every right to be a victim. Ugh. It was so cathartic.
The romance was a bit of a slow burn, and definitely had me wanting WAAAAY more of that spice.
Aldo is such an charismatic character and I loved seeing all the different sides of him, other than just the show he puts on for everyone else.
Really enjoyed this one and highly suggest checking it out! She just got a new facelift and I'm loving the new covers for this series.
Thank you @netgalley for the ebook copy
