I was hyped for them since the first book and damn they did not disappoint.

I have no clue how Kennedy Ryan managed this but every since book in this series is a masterpiece itself.

I really loved Lotus as a character and as a lead. She is so energetic and strong. She is selfless and caring despite her tragic past. If one person has a right for being egoistical - it is her. And still, she helps and supports where she can and stands back if needed, no matter her personal feelings.

And Kenan. My buddy I’m in love. He loves Jazz and is a true gentleman. He is a great father and and even better husband for the right woman.

Their romance was so adorable. I can’t.
Kennedy really executed their relationship so well. The struggle between being attracted but personal life holding you back. Kenan being so damn understandable and caring. He gave her all the time she needed and more despite him being desperately in love. And when they finally gave in, when she finally felt ready to take the next step - it was all the better.

I also had several heart attacks. Kennedy was ready to hurt me. The whole storyline with Kenans daughter broke my heart and I’m so happy that we got the ending we got. Wasn’t a given at one point.

Definitely worth a read! This book has everything I want. Magnificent characters. Impeccable writing in the Kennedy trademark awesome style. Genius storyline that made me happy and then sad and also happy-sad.

Mind the trigger warnings please but if you are okay with them - READ.THIS.BOOK.

Super sad that this series is over - each book was awesome and I love this series so much!!!

4.5/5 | Kennedy Ryan did it again for me. I absolutely enjoyed this book so much, I decided to purchase the rest of the Hoops series. I’m so excited to read.
One thing about Kennedy Ryan is that she knows how to write chemistry PERFECTLY. Lotus and Keenan? Whew. Chefs kiss. Like I thought I was also in their relationship. I enjoy the little banter they have. How they communicate to each other. How they are around each other—I can feel their love. If you wanna know what soulmates are, think of Lotus and Keenan.
I love how relatable Lotus’s personality is as well. I see a lot of myself in her, which definitely brought me comfort. Keenan’s patience was also beautiful. He was so kind and gentle to her, and never made her feel guilty for not rushing sex.
What I can say is please do not go into this book without precautions. TW// Sexual Assault. This is extremely heavy and triggering. They talk and hinted what happened throughout the book, but Chapter 30 is very triggering. It is in detail. I couldn’t even read it entirely. I skipped to the end.

*Hinted Spoiler*

The reason why I gave it a 4.5 is because I do feel like chapter 46 wasn’t needed. It was more so for shock value in my opinion. If what happened was to set up for Keenan’s future, I feel like something else could’ve been done. Especially since we were still recovering from a previous tragedy.

But overall, I absolutely loved this book, and I do plan on reading it again before the year is over when I do my rereads of 2023. I highly recommend this if you want beautiful story that includes romance and tragedy.

Wow! I don’t know what to say! I’ve waited anxiously for this book, and it was so worth it! I loved Kenan from the first time he was mentioned. Lotus was magnificent. Their emotions so real that you could feel them coming off the pages. I felt his daughter Simone’s anguish over her parents splitting up. Lotus moved them all forward by stepping back, and I loved her insight. I also loved Song of Solomon and it was beautifully used.

Wow, this book was a rollercoaster! I thoroughly enjoy Kennedy Ryan's writing. I really love their love story even through everything that happened (which was a lot). My only issue was the pacing towards the end of the book, where it felt like there was a lot happening and didn't leave time for me to personally feel that emotional pay-off. Also, double epilouge felt unnecessary. Felt like there was a better way to pace the book so that the ending wasn't so stop-go-stop-go. Overall, I'd give this book a 4.3/5!

“I have found the one whom my soul loves,” he quotes. More tears rain over my cheeks; a release years overdue. I weep for every time I’ve felt unloved, unwanted, unnecessary, and imperfect. It’s all there in the look he settles on me. To him, I’m more than enough. I’m all that he wants.”

This just may be my favorite book in this series. I really enjoyed the personal journey that both Keenan and Lotus went through and the romance 🥹. Their connection, chemistry, the drama and the friendship made this such a good read. I really really appreciated the healing that Lotus had to go through that stemmed from the trauma she went through.

Something that was really interesting to me in this book was Lotus’s spirituality. The combination of New Orleans voodoo and christianity and how it shaped her relationship with Kennan and also her healing was so unique and different. At first I was like huh but I really liked how it played out especially with the Song of Solomon verses and also the voodoo healing(?). Like always the way Kennedy Ryan writes friendships and healing was really well done and I liked the glimpses of characters from the first 2 books.

Hook Shot

by Kennedy Ryan

Pub Date 10 Oct 2023

The last of the Hoops trilogy. The story comes full circle!

This book focuses on Kenan and Lotus who we both have met before. As well as the previous books, this is not only a love story, but also a story of survival and trauma.
Lotus is a survivor of childhood SA, Kenan has his own demons as well.

As usually this story was as hot as it was heartfelt. Kennedy Ryan knows how to deliver and give you a great story. She writes amazing and strong characters as well as the perfect villains.

I liked this story a lot more than book two, but nothing beats book one. These two here had perfect chemistry. I could have lived without the third act break up but other than that I am happy with the story. The only thing I didn’t care about was that every one of these three books ends the same way. Marriage, children, like there is nothing else? I mean the Happy End was deserved. But she builds so strong and amazing (female) characters and still they end up on the same box at the end? I have nothing against marriage nor kids, but this makes it like reading the same story all over again. Oh well. Four stars nevertheless!
