***I just reread this book for the second time this week. This is easily one of my favorite books ever. I know that I probably won't reread this book again for a year or so, but I will be thinking about Kellan long after I have moved on to another series. Dare I say he is my very favorite?? I think so..😍😍

OMG!!!! This book had me laughing so hard I was in tears, and swooning even harder over Kellan. It's just sad that a perfect guy like this doesn't exist in real life. Thankfully I at least get to experience it through this well written books. This series is fast becoming one of my favorite series of all time.

************************************************Minor Spoilers********************************** Great series so far. Kellen & Kiara started their relationship as an affair, behind the back of Kiera's boyfriend, and Kellen's friend Denny. They are madly in love, but can't help their lack of trust in each other. Kellen revealed his horrifying childhood experiences, his reasons for being a man wh**e, and because of all that why he loves Kiera more than anything. Kiera is living with her sister, and finding herself, the person she is separate from her relationship. Everything is great between the two of them until the D-bags get their big break and head out on tour. Kellen is extremely sweet to her, leaving notes for her to find even months after he has been gone. They talk all of the time, and even meet up at Christmas at her parents house. A hidden truth here, an unanswered text there, and they find themselves losing their hard won relationship. Griffin, wow, he is a mess. You never know what he might say or do next. It's hard to believe that Anna, Kiara's model gorgeous sister, not only puts up with him, but loves it.

***********************************************Major Spoilers****************************************
Kellen & Kiara work through their insecurity. She helps him to meet his biological father, and the way it was left it looks like he may be a healthy addition to Kellen's life. Anna is pregnant, by Griffin no less! I was surprised at his reaction, kind of sweet. I really like Jenny, she is sweet, and kind, but quick to tell you what she thinks. At the end of the book, Kiera graduated, and decided to write a book. A career that can easily accompany Kellen's new success. <3

I just can't get enough of the drama!!! Well yeah maybe Kiera gets annoying sometimes but that's kinda the point. The character is indecisive and full of doubts and that's what makes it a book. That's the intention of the writer. And also... KELLAN KYLE. that would be all.

I loved this one and I don't think I can put every single thing that really got to me, but I am going to make a confession... I love Griffin since book one, don't really know why but yep, I just do, and my love for him was justified at the end of this book. So I guess that makes me kinda crazy.

Swoon! I want a Kellan Kyle all of my own. My hubby needs to read this. I love him and all his angsty way. The steam literally puffs off the page.

For me this was better than Thoughtless. Kiera was a little less annoying although she's 20 something years old and certainly not a virgin, so why does she blush anytime anyone mentions sex?! And why is she irritated that people tease her about it? I would tease her mercilessly! Still love Denny. Glad he's back, and I'm so glad he has Abby. I find it all a little too convenient that everyone in the band is now
Spoilershacked/hooked up with someone though... even Kate with Justin from whatever band was described in the book (I don't know who the bad is supposed to be). And Griffin is of course so psyched that he's having a baby.

So, I wont lie, I feel somewhat hypocritical reading this book given that Thoughtless, the first book in this series, didn't exactly get a sparkling review from me. I hated Kiera to the point where I considered putting the book down, the storyline kinda bored me, and I wasn't blown away with the writing.

The only saving grace, however, was Kellan Kyle, because I'm a total sucker for a boy in a band with a troubled past and possessive tendencies. *sigh*.

He's basically the only reason I picked up Effortless, and while I can't say it was a complete 180 and it's now my favourite book ever, it was definitely a lot more enjoyable than Thoughtless and I didn't consider putting this one down. Huzzah!

So Effortless basically revolves around Kiera and Kellan maintaining their relationship while Kellan goes on tour, with a few little obstacles in between. The story line alone had me enjoying this book much more, simply because I could sympathise with Kiera who faces a lot of worries about Kellan and cheating on tour, groupies, when he's coming home etc etc.

I grew to like Kiera in Effortless and found her a more believable character. She faces some self confidence issues which I think most girls can relate to, and throw in a super hot boyfriend who spends a good deal of time in the company of other attractive females and you've got yourself a believable character.

The sub-characters were also a great deal more interesting, as I found that they offered little to the narrative in Thoughtless. Kiera's sister, Anna, has her own story line going on and more is made of characters like Jenny and Kate, as well as the other D-Bags.

Kellan, as before, was an enjoyable character and his relationship with Kiera became less about the sex and more about the actual bond, which was a nice change up from Thoughtless which predominantly focused on how sexually attractive they found eachother.

Honestly, I still dont have anything amazing to say about Effortless, there was nothing about it that screaming THIS IS AWESOME. I've read a lot of other books involving the whole rock/music/band thing that I enjoyed much more and I've definitely read other new adult/contemporary books that Effortless couldnt hold a torch to.

For that reason I'm going to give Effortless a 3 out of 5, as I did Thoughtless. In my first review I said I wouldnt recommend it, and I think I stand by that. I won't tell you to put it down, but I'm not shoving it under your nose.

Both the first book - Thoughtless - and this second book about Kellan and Kiera have put me through the ringer... I've laughed, I've cried, I've been angry, I've been worried, I've been lost... but reading their journey, their story... was very rewarding.
