DNF'd at 52%. I started reading because of a tiktok, and it sounded interesting but I just couldn't get through it. I wasn't able to connect to the characters, the story itself seemed far to fast and was just a lot of sex with very little plot.

I loved this book and the characters. Good plot, LOTS of spice, I wish there was more drama and I do feel like the book was mostly spice and about solidifying the “mating bond” so hopefully I get that in the next book but the ending was everything❤️

Dnf - was interested in the plot of it and it started off okay but it just read like a wattpad story.
she was struggling so hard to get the house she wants that she saves every penny to the point she has quite the savings but it's still not enough so her BFF gives her a lot of money to go towards the house but it still isn't enough but then all of a sudden her granddad comes in with bags and bags of money, buys the place AND STILL HAS MONEY LEFTOVER to then give to her. So she doesn't need to worry about money for quite a bit.
The fmc is just annoying
The oujii board was...something... he's spelling out each word of whole paragraphs....there's no way she's keeping up with him.
This is just a few things and I've only read a few chapters so yeah...its a dnf for me

SUMMARY: (SPOILER WARNING)
Maven has always been different and had a hard time fitting in. But with her Pa (grandfather) and best friend Dottie by her side, she’s never felt lonely.
She has, however, longed to own the abandoned Monreaux mansion. Since she first saw it at the age of ten she’s been drawn to it. When it goes up for auction, she’s finally able to buy it.
But the mansion holds more than cobwebs, it holds her Beloved, Alexander, who is a vampire trapped in a coma because of being bit by a werewolf 121 years ago.
Once Maven awakens Alexander, their mate bond is completed and they both work together to rebuild his coven that seems to have perished. In the meantime, old enemies resurface and threaten their progress.

REVIEW:
This was so much fun! What a great new paranormal romance series. Definitely don’t skip the prequel though! Some of it is recalled in this book, but I can tell I enjoyed this more because I did read the prequel.
I enjoyed the romance between Alexander and Maven. I liked both characters and they had good chemistry. They are fated mates so there is that instalove kind of thing going on, but I don’t mind that personally, especially when it’s connected to a paranormal bond type of thing.
There’s quite a lot of sex. I love sex in books and it was written well. Loved the dirty talk! But I definitely would’ve liked a little more time in between sex scenes. Sometimes it was a few too many back-to-back. We are given a reason for that though — since they are newly bonded they are in a mating frenzy. But it can still be a little too much when it’s so frequent.
The world building it really interesting too. So much to explore in future books, including a mysterious portal that’s now open and tons of new and diverse characters added to the mix! It’s already such a rich paranormal world. I’m looking forward to seeing it bloom and grow even more.
I do hope to see Atreyu and Severide find their bonded in future books! And of course, Brenden. I wonder what will happen there. Interesting!
Overall it was a great book. I’m so excited to read more and I can’t wait for the next book!
