Gorgeous, colourful art, awesome story, really great buildup. Really want to read the rest of the series now.

This was an absolute trip. As a reader I was definitely thrown in the deep end, but the MCs also had no idea what was happening, so I kind of enjoyed the confusion? The plot of the story was unique, but it also has some great Stranger Things vibes. I also really liked the colour palette. All in all, I’m really intrigued to see what happens next.

Having become a fan of Brian K. Vaughan's world-building, adventure-building, and pathos-building (lots of building with that guy; he conducts THE clinic on great story-telling) in Saga, I wanted to give Paper Girls a whirl too. So glad I did. I've read volumes 1-3 of the collected books so far, and much like Saga, the story grows more complex and creative as it goes. This tale follows four 12-year-old girls who deliver the newspaper in their Cleveland subdivision and one morning encounter a series of ever more strange beings and objects until they realize two warring factions of time travelers are vying for their attention and assistance. If you enjoyed Saga (so far), then this series will be up your alley.
