Such a fun, innovative time hop book. My head is spinning! The only thing I did not like was having a solid answer or reason WHY Oona spins through time. There is no instigating incident...no internal thought or wish...just one new years eve, out of the blue, blammo, she leaps. That said, the niggle is small and only pulled me out of story now and then when I tried to wrap my head around how the timelines were actually working...how her mom could have memories from different Oona versions...how they seem to overlap and yet stand alone. It hurt my head to think about it too much, so I tried not to but couldn't help it. The story itself is rich and poignant and interesting. Very much worth the read. And goes to show as an author, if the emotions on the page are ripe and lush it will be hard to put down. And it was. I read through this as fast as time allowed me...any time I had down time to read I was grabbing this book.

3.5 star read for me.
Really fun and the concept was well done. Oona's mom and Kenzie are both great.
I was glad the story never dragged though some of Oona's late-teen/early-twenties angst was a little rough.
I do really wish less of the story revolved around Oona's dating and more about non-romantic relationships as it felt a lot of the time all the issues and struggles were just about men being men.

I listened to the audiobook. The narrator, Brittany Pressley is superb. The time travel was interesting.
SpoilerI was enjoying the childfree protagonist, but the author pulled the rug out from under me in the last act. I did not appreciate that.

The only thing I didn't like about this book was that it ended. I'm not even being facetious, I genuinely wouldn't have minded if the story leaped through every single year of Oona's life (I definitely wanted more of the 80's lol).

Oona made a lot of stupid choices along the way, but I couldn't help but love how frustrating it was that she wasn't getting it. She was stubborn throughout the whole thing, thinking she could change things, getting mad at herself and lashing out on everyone else when things didn't go her way. But that's the way things are, in the end. Her life was out of order, but she still had to live with the consequences of her actions, and I thought this part was incredibly well done.

That's it, basically. I was hooked on this in a way a book hasn't hooked me in such a long time I just loved it, I loved the journey, I didn't want it to end. It helps that I tend to enjoy time travel stories, and I personally cannot resist a bit of the 80's thrown in there. I thought the book could have given a bit more details about a couple of things, like how/why Oona started leaping, or what happened to some of the characters in a couple of timelines (I feel like some people were set up to be important, but they didn't end up mattering in the end), but I still really, really enjoyed this.
