- Flaws of characters a main focus? Yes

I enjoyed the concept of this book a lot, but I think the main character could have been more compelling and I think the book could have potentially covered more time. Definitely worth a read though if you are intrigued by the concept alone and there were some fun moments.

I love this book. I don’t even have words yet.
It’s reminiscent of The Midnight Library, except instead of different life paths; Oona experiences different years of her life in non-chronological order.
I gasped, laughed, and cried. That makes it a 5 for me.

This was such a great concept—a woman who lives her life out of order starting from her 18th birthday—but the execution was lacking.
Why was the story mostly about Oona’s romances? It was the least inspired way to use the time travel plot device.
I also wish Oona was a little more likeable. She’s 19, sure, but she’s so self-centred. There’s a point when a loved one is dying and she makes it about herself.
I also don’t understand the ageism and fat-shaming. If it was the character thinking it, I could still somewhat understand, but the text of the book seems to think so, as well. Oona travels to her 51-year-old body and makes it sound like she’s on her death bed. How stupid is that?
This book should have been so much better.

I loved this book. I raced through it to see where Oona would land next and then sobbed through the end as I didn’t want it to be over.

As the title suggests, Oona is living her life out of order. Every New Year’s Eve she jumps to a different year of her life. She might be 21 internally but 54 externally or vice versa. To me it reads like a sweet coming of age story, but with the added fun of time travel. Like many time travel books, you really can’t think too hard about the specifics of it all, or you’ll get a headache. Just allow the magic to happen. I laughed, I cried, definitely a worthy read.

Loved this book. I didn’t want it to end, I wanted to hear about all the years of her life. Very creative way to look at life and maturity and taking advantage of every single moment we get with those we love and doing the things we love to do. Definitely thought provoking.

It was a quick read and really interesting idea. It started off really great, but by the end it just felt meh. There were several threads of story that I wish had been more played out.

Very interesting and unique plot about a girl who leapt into a different year at the stroke of midnight each New Year’s. But I didn’t find the characters all that well developed. A good and interesting book but not a great one.

the concept was fun but the plot ended up kind of boring :/
