So very good

It's been so long since I read the Sevenwaters books, but this brought be back in and reminded me why I loved them. Getting to know more about these characters was wonderful. I'd love to see another short story about them.

I enjoyed this story, but it was far too short. The ending felt like a beginning. I'd have loved to read more about the main characters!

I really wanted to like this one, because it solves a lot of the mysteries around Fiacha and gives the reader some backstory on Ciaran. However, this is just too short a story to correctly explore this plot properly.

It felt rushed. The romance was one that I felt I could have rooted for, had it been given the time to breathe and grow. Instead, because of the short length, it's rushed and cheapened and ruined. If you want a similar exploration of this type of relationship, read Tamora Pierce's Daughter of the Lioness duology.

For completionists (like myself) only.

Lovely short story/novella that sheds light on a couple mysteries from the Sevenwaters series.
