Honestly it was a pretty good book with the exception that all the crap that happened at the end of it was completely avoidable. It was ridiculous!! I mean, one would think that with werewolves who lived for fucking CENTURIES they would know better than to fall for a few crappy years and a sad story especially when they had a GODDAMN WEREWOLF WITH POWERS TO KNOW THE FUCKERS INTENSION but of course not! Why would they use their assets and their brains for something like that right. I’m kind pissed, especially with Vic rushing everything in that battle without even fucking thinking of the goddamn consequences, I mean, are u for real?!! Throughout all of that I was thinking “no, she cannot be that stupid, it’s just not possible after everything she went through, she is not that stupid, righttt????” But yes, she was that stupid.

Book 2 in the series and @elizabeth_kni8ht comes through again. Except she made it spicier! The storyline continues and it’s amazingly good. I’m still in love with all the characters except Sarma and few others (looking at you “parents”)

The ending???? How could you Elizabeth how could you? Thank the Lord im reading now that they’re all out or I’d be whipping my kindle!

*This is the second book in a four book series, and ends on a cliffhanger.

This book is set entirely on the island Kursar—which we learned in the last book is “where the alphas of old ruled from.” Right away we’re introduced to the Imperial Dawn Pack and it’s three elders—who have acted as proxy-rulers in the absence of an Alpha Female—as they offer their fealty to Viv after she agrees to become their Dama.

The reigns to the kingdom are handed over, and Viv’s moved into an honest-to-god castle, where she doesn’t waste any time asserting her dominance. If that sounded slightly snippy, know that it was meant to. It just brushed me the wrong way how quickly Viv took to being a queen.

Conflict arises not even twenty-four hours into her new rule, from both internal and external forces. Quick on its heels is the discovery of a secret underground lab with ties to Dr. Faulk, and potential Collective spies doubling as potential mates.

!!WARNING!! This section contains spoilers related to the antagonist:
Spoiler
I was really hoping that Sarma wouldn’t be the traitor, not because I liked her, but because the author practically served her up on a silver platter from the start. She was so obvious that I was actually suspicious that Astrid was the traitor, and that Sarma was just the red herring. All Sarma did was undermine Viv, not even attempting to hide her contempt. Whilst that alone wasn’t enough to be the smoking gun, it is when you combine it with other occurrences:

—The only way that the Collective would have learned about Viv so soon was if they a) hacked Darius’s unhackable communications or b) someone on the island told them, and given how the general public is kept isolated to the outside world, it would have had to have been someone at the top of the hierarchy, where such restrictions don’t apply. I.e., one of the elders.

—When Darius mentioned the increased security he added to the castle Sarma literally choked. Later, when Viv told Sarma about their being a “rat” amongst them, Sarma appeared to be uneasy. Both reactions that make sense for a person with something to hide…

—Astrid revealed that Sarma had killed the packs’ last doctor in a fit of rage.

The ending frustrated me because it could have been avoided if Sarma was caught sooner. And Sarma could have been caught sooner, but Viv dropped the ball on that. I say this because Viv didn’t trust Sarma, but she didn’t tell anyone else because she didn’t have any “proof.”

I liked this book and as I was reading it I was thinking this was a 3.25 maybe even 3.5 star read….until 2 things happened at the end of the book. Non-spoiler version: big plot things happen with NO set up as a “revel” but don’t make sense and the FMC goes from smart, logical, pragmatic to an absolute idiot so the plot can move along. Spoiler version:
one of her mates (Orion) is actually a Demi-god (of torture and torment) and this is just whipped out of the blue and it’s so out of the blue the author had to put a conversation with her wolf saying “we will explain it later” cause what the fuck?! And two the whole book Viv is smart and strong and everything and then when the bad guy comes, they make a plan and for absolutely and I mean absolutely no reason other than the author needed a battle to happen, viv opens the doors and she is like whaaaaaat we are fighting?!? Who knew that would happen!?

It ruined the book for me

I don’t even know where to begin. I picked this book up and could not put it down until it was finished. Elizabeth killed it with this book. It picks up right where the first one left off arriving to Viv’s new home. My favorite part about this book was seeing Vic turn into the Dana she was meant to be. Along the way she finds adds to her mates and faces real trouble from old and new foe’s. She also discovered more about herself the. She ever new before. I cannot wait to read the next book in this series!

Where do I even begin with this epicness I just read! Elizabeth Knight has completely outdone herself! This story was so much more than I could have ever imagined. It was action-packed, beyond steamy, and filled with a phenomenal plot line and characters that are truly one of a kind!

I want Viv and her Wolf as my best friend please! Viv is one of my favorite heroines ever! She is strong, independent, caring, kind and brilliant to boot. And her interaction with her Wolf seriously makes everything in my life better! The connection between Viv her Wolf and the banter between them is priceless, it makes me smile like a loon.

“Being mated is more than being married, it's when two souls blend with each other. We are so much more to one another than any human will ever be able to understand.”

The connection between Viv and each of her mates brings something so unique and special to this story. Each have such distinct personalities, talents and connections with Viv. They each add such depth to the story and make the story even more extraordinary than it already is.

Elizabeth Knight threw me for constant loops and turns throughout this story and I loved every minute. I was constantly on my toes waiting for what would happen next whether it was a fight, sexy times, or even a civilized conversation, I wanted and loved it all!

Hands down one of my favorite books, series and authors ever!

What did I just read! Oh my word, I am left panting and feel like snarling.

Usually, the second book in a series is supposed to be reasonably predictable. Right...? Right!

Elizabeth Knight must have read this note, turned around, and did whatever the hell she wanted. Though I suspect a particular sassy wolf had a paw in there.

The story starts calmly enough, with Viv landing on the island. However, it takes off from there, and we are introduced to new characters. Each of them is intrinsically woven further into the tapestry of Viv's story.

My favorite part was the end. It is the sign of a fantastic book if you continue to read while feeling miserable to know you are almost at the end...

This second book is again another breathtaking and adventurous tale. And the series keeps giving by leaving you with plenty of new plotlines to be curious about in the third book.
