This book took forever for me to find a groove with. I almost DNF'd it several times because it had such a slow start and it felt a little too close to home after having lost my dad this summer. Over all, I'm glad I read it.

A beautiful story about the love shared by a father and daughter- something I have not seen as a focus in many other books. As a daughter who lost her dad, it healed something in me. Get your tissues ready!

I loved this, it was a sweet look at a father-daughter relationship, but also at lifelong best friends. This was a time travel I could get behind, where the past could affect the future but she learned really great life lessons from it and it opened her eyes to things she had missed. I really loved the themes about age and how parent-child relationships look different at different times, past and present, younger and older.

I loved this, it was well written and paced well. The story was so sweet-almost simple but not stupid
It was the story of the love between a single dad and his daughter and some time travel.

I’ve read all of Emma Straub’s work and this is by far my favourite. I feel like she balanced the sentimentality perfectly here. I also don’t read many time slip novels in contemporary lit fiction so the nostalgia was exactly right, too. A joy of a read. Finally read this in time to see her on Saturday at @melbwritersfest.
