Reverse 13 going on 30 and Groundhog Day combined. Meh it was ok. Nice little time travel story which is always interesting.

This was ok. I liked reading it. I liked the main character. I appreciated that it wasn’t a conventional story of everything leading towards a partner and children and instead centres around a father daughter love story.

I enjoyed this very much. As a person whose parents grew up in New York and who lived briefly on the Upper West Side and then visited there often in the eighties and early nineties, this book felt comfortingly homey--all the references from Zabars to V&Ts and Serendipity and more. The story is beautiful and I wanted to know more about the author's real relationship with her father.

This was a book club pick, and it wasn’t one that I would have picked up on my own. The description was not enticing to me at all and the idea of sci-fi time travel stuff was a bit of a turn off.

But I was pleasantly surprised at how good it was! The focus was on relationships not the science-y stuff and it was very touching as Alice struggles with what path her life in meant to take and more so struggling with the fact she can’t change the outcome of her father’s illness and impending death.

I enjoyed this book a great deal, esp. the parts about being a teen in the 80s (maybe it was the 90s for this character but still…)

The words describing love for a child when first born are my feelings. And the description of love for a beloved father resonated more than I can describe. Those parts of the book spoke the most to me. There are other passages that tell my feelings so very well.I am so glad I read this book.

Enjoyed this asa a "before bed" book, though it took more attention than my usual nighttime read.

Interesting premise, intriguing details and a Daisuke ending.

I listened to this book and I think the narrator's snide teenage version voice annoyed me. I nearly stopped reading multiple times. A few times I retread sections in an ebook that I wanted to absorb more fully.... the voice in my head was much more comfortable.

There were a couple glitches in the matrix.... like the first time Alice reopened and reached for her phone. She unlocked it with the same password she had set when she was 14. Hmm. Her 16yo self didn't yet have a cell phone!

The cumulative lessons learned and final acceptance was a pleasant ending.... rereading it at the end pulled at my heart.

This a wonderful read that pays gentle homage to science and speculative fiction and fans. It’s also a story about holding on to what and whom you love and about letting go of what you need to. It’s offers a recognition of the grief process, but in the kindest and most understanding of ways. Lovely little mentions of Doctor Who.
