I'm already plant-based (vegan plus eggs from a neighbor with ethically raised organic chickens) and my daily career is in watershed restoration so maybe I wasn't the intended audience, but I felt like this book was a let down. There are plenty of better books with the same message that would reach me better if I wasn't already in agreement. I'm fully on board with most of what he said, but the actual book came off as self indulgent and not very effective. At least it wasn't terribly long and I finished it in two sittings.

Thoughtful conversation on our steps to climate change. Both taking responsibility for our future and asking for changes from others. We only know how good it can be when we reflect on how bad it can be.

Compelling emotional (not factual) case for eating predominantly plant-based meals as a necessary step to solve climate change.
There are still facts included. Those are compelling too (and refreshingly transparent in the way they are shares). But the point of the book is... Facts don't change people's minds, so he makes the case differently, while wrestling with that reality.
It's an easy read, wrt the prose, which is nice given the topic. I recommend it to anyone who is even 2% interested in reading it.

DNF after 30%. There are so many important and well done books on climate change out there. This is not one of them. I had so many issues with this book (and being badly written is the least important one) that I've decided not to finish it. Do yourself a favour and read another book on climate change, please.
