I would rate this overall 3.5, with 3 stars for the first 55% or so, and then 4 stars for the remaining 45%. I thought that this had a pretty slow and uneven start with getting the relationships and friendships established and also trying to figure out what exactly the conflict was going to be. The second half is when the conflict started coming into the picture, as well as these 5 guys getting more settled into the relationship. This is really when the book thrives and gets interesting. And sexy times, too!

This story has a nice blend of the paranormal and also normal human relationships - Zach is a vampire, and Shaun has just been transformed into a wolf shifter. Then we have Wes and Dane, who are both human trying to figure out their friendship/relationship, and finally we have Shaun's friend, Colin, who is also human and trying to figure out what he wants with Shaun and now Zach.

There were things that still felt very...vague? after I finished reading this story. Like, I felt like I didn't know a whole lot about appearances or ages for these characters, as well as knowing like what the "rules" are for the vampires and shifters. And when I say rules, I mean like the lore and what vampires and shifters can and cannot do. Although we knew a lot about Zach, at the same time I felt like we didn't.

I would kinda love to see these guys like 5 years later, how their relationship has grown and developed, if they are now thinking that all the humans need to become vampires so no one dies early, and what's new with them. I did struggle to get into this story, but I am glad that I stuck with it.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I love a good polyamorous book…and I knew 5 men in a relationship would be tough to pull off. I’m kind of in the middle of the road with my thoughts on this book. I really liked that none of them were in a romantic relationship at the start of the book. I’ve always had a tough time with couples that bring in a third or more….it just doesn’t always seem to flow well. Wes and Dane as well as Colin and Shaun had the friends-to-lovers thing going on which I always like and however, each pair had almost ‘insta-love’ for the other pair. All four of them were instantly drawn to Zach. Is that a vampire thing? The only one that knew him well was Shaun. They all have amazing sexual chemistry and their sex scenes were smoking hot.

Colin’s reaction to the paranormal was instant and hard to believe. He didn’t question it at all…just accepted it. Wes and Dane were more suspicious but eventually came around. I’m not an avid paranormal reader so I can’t speak to the accuracy of any part of the story that contained that info. The angst related to that was over pretty quick and dissolved in a way that made me believe it wasn’t really an issue to begin with.

There was a twist in the book that took me by surprise. I like their long-term plans and the arrangements they made as a group.

This is a little bit long and I did skim some parts of the story but I liked it overall. I didn’t really like one character over the others and didn’t have a problem with any of them. If you can handle the poly relationship, this is definitely a good read.

This paranormal romance is a bit of a slow build, but it is certainly an entertaining read. The dynamic between these guys was quite interesting to me. Many times in a story of polyamory, there's an odd man out, so to speak - one that just doesn't seem as invested as the others, but that isn't the case here. The author has done a good job of creating a relationship that includes all five of the characters and by the conclusion, it's easy to see that they would all willingly do anything for the others. While the focus of the book is on the relationship, which does get steamy, we also get some intrigue and action along the way.

A sweet instalove poly story with a paranormal twist , Love Times Five was exactly what I needed to read today. The author writes from five different points of view and while it seems like that would be confusing, it’s not at all. The men are each sweet and lovely, their individual relationships are as important as the relationship of the group. Love Times Five is also super hot, bring the marshmallows for s’mores hot!
