Ok I have to say with each book I read in this series...they just keep getting better and better. This is Bk 2 and where Ember with the help from Vin who's her boyfriend has been fighting to keep the darkness from consuming her as she tries to have a normal high school life, but it seems someone is starting trouble and once again her family is affected. This girl can't catch a break just when you think thing's might be kitten and rainbows somebody has to be starting trouble and without giving much away let's just say this they've pissed off the wrong person. I can't wait to get my hands on Bk 3 to see what's happening next.

This story picks right back up where we left off in book one. I am so appreciative that all the drama comes from outside Ember and Vin’s relationship, so you can really enjoy their story while they support each other taking on the underground of Toronto and New York. I wish we’d seen some more of the action that happens off-page, but I also understand not including it since this story is so focused on Ember and Vin.

Into Darkness by C.A. Rene is a dark revenge romance. This is the second book in the Whitsborough Chronicles series and should be read in order.

I absolutely love C.A. Rene’s books! She pulled me in from the first chapter and I couldn’t wait to see what was going to happen next. There are so many twists and turns that kept me captivated until the very end. I was so excited to get more back story on Carmelo and Emmett. I love the friendship that’s being built between Travis and Vincent. And of course we can’t forget about the off the charts chemistry between Ember and Vincent.

I really liked that we got more of Vincent’s point of view throughout this book and we had a chapter with Travis point of view. It really brings the story to life to know what is going on in the heads of Ember, Vincent, and Travis.

The book does end on a cliffhanger and I can’t wait to dive into the next book in the series Finding the Light.

I would highly recommend this series if you like dark romances, contemporary romances, or romantic suspense.

Into Darkness pick up where Through The Pain left you. I’m not going to give away too much. Into Darkness is too good. Ember has fight the darkness inside of herself not for her but her family. We get to learn and see more about brothers. We get twist turn and tragic in the story. C. A. Rene not only does a wonderful job writing the storyline but the characters are so great. Remember there are a lot of tiggers.

Holy crap. This book is crazy. Ember has dealt with enough tragedy in her life, but she is coming into herself. She is embracing her inner darkness and putting it to good use.

As always, Ember and Vin are

This series satisfies my dark soul. Seeing ember fall deeper into darkness while those around her support her even when she goes too far is such a strange but fascinating dynamic. She's barely holding it together and the raised stakes and crazy twists made this one hard to put down. Vin is amazing and deserves the world, Ember and Emmett are adorable, and Travis needs a big fat hug.

This second book really amped up the darkness factor as Ember finally embraced her darkness completely, she’s definitely one girl you don’t want to mess with.
This had plenty of action and Ember and Vin have moved up to the next level in their relationship and are now completely solid together.
He understands and accepts Embers need for blood and vengeance and stands by his girl completely, he just gets her and his love is unconditional.

A lot does happen here and we get some new players added to the mix in the form of Embers brothers to further shake things up.
As for Embers besties well we didn’t get to see that much of Adri here and what we did see I wasn’t really a fan of but Travis did come into his own and it’s very apparent that he’s been holding a great deal back, surprisingly it’s Vin that picks up the slack here stepping up and coming through for his brother despite there previous volatile history.

This had twists and turns combined with plenty of steamy heat.
It had a definite darker vibe compared to the first book and discounting that finale and the events preceding we really just skated the lines between black and white right or wrong here these markers are totally obliterated and smashed to smithereens.
Ember is like the angel of death personified and those who face her wrath better beware.

I’m really liking this series a lot it’s bloody and violent and Ember is all things psychotic but I can’t help but like her and she has such a big heart for those she calls hers.
