What a ride this one was!

I have to admit it took me a little longer to read this book. I had a hard time getting into it and I think it was because I couldn’t stand the ex and her mother lol. They totally set me off from the beginning and it took me awhile to leave them outta my mind and focus on Greyson and Fallon.

But once I was able to do that, boy did they ever suck me in.

Their love story is not your average fairytale. Their story is about fighting to get what you want. The long run if you will. Maybe more so for Greyson.

I have to say I loved that they were best friends but hated how they both couldn’t just admit to themselves (more so Fallon) and each other how they truly felt.

But nevertheless this was a beautiful and heartwarming story.

Swoony, steamy, and peppered with drama, Irresistibly Perfect is so incredibly romantic. Greyson is the seemingly playboy rockstar who’s way more than he seems, and Fallon is the newly single pediatrician whose life has basically just imploded. They’ve been friends since they were teenagers, but for most of that time it’s been in secret, since her family doesn’t at all approve of her having any sort of interaction with him. There’s a ton of history between them, but for the last three years they haven’t spoken (her call not his). However, when Fallon finds out the sort of man her properly pedigreed fiancé really is, she’s finally off on the adventure of a lifetime in more ways than one. Will Greyson and Fallon ever be able to truly be more than long-lost friends, or will others continue to be in the way?

Greyson is an absolute doll! Like at first, I assumed he was going to be this too-cool-for-school rockstar, but he’s not at all! I mean he’s definitely got that cool vibe, but he’s so much more than what he might seem. I love when the guy falls first, and the way Greyson’s always fiercely cared for Fallon is just about the sweetest, swooniest thing ever. I fell in love with his character completely.

Then there’s Fallon, and she’s totally relatable. There’s something so real about her character and her insecurities and worries that makes her the perfect heroine to root for. I adore the way this author especially writes the women in her stories, and Fallon is yet one more example of a multilayered and endearing character.

Irresistibly Perfect is another wonderfully written book in this series, and if you love contemporary romance then you’re not going to want to miss it. I can’t wait to see what Saman does with Callan’s story next!

Irresistibly Perfect is paediatrician Fallon and her secret friend (the rockstar) Greyson’s imperfectly perfect romance.

Content Advisory: Controlling parents, Infidelity (not among the protagonists)

Synopsis
Fallon Lark, or Fall Girl (as Greyson Monroe likes to call her), was Monroe’s neighbour when they were teenagers. He was and still is in love with her. But he knew that however much he wanted her, he couldn’t have her, what with their families being who they were/are.

In the present, when the opportunity presents itself and he has a second chance to woo her, he goes all in, especially when Fallon too seeks him out to escape the storm that her life has become.

Review
Based in Boston, from being a Central Square artist (a famous band) to going solo, Grey's life has been everything except he doesn't have Fallon, despite loving her.

Irresistibly Perfect starts with a prologue that is filled with heartbreak. She's a senator's daughter who has to follow a certain way of life while he's the bad boy rockstar.

The story starts three years later. Narrated from his and her first-person perspectives, this is a second-chance romance with a lot of verve.

I was thrilled to be able to read about Zax again, from Irresistibly Broken (Greyson is his younger brother). Also adorable was Aurelia’s equation with the boys.

Fallon is 29, and while she may be running away from her fiancé, she is fearful of her parents’ wrath. Greyson is the most adorable though, not expecting anything from her and yet following her like the bubba he is (I wonder why I sound like his granny).

Anyways, their non-romp across Europe was pretty damn amazing. And Greyson may be the sweetest for supporting Fallon as he did, he’s nothing if not a shameless flirt (but only with his Fall Girl).
That’s the incredible thing about music. It’s visceral. You experience it in multiple parts of your brain because it’s not just sound, it’s words with sound and both evoke feeling and emotion.

Kudos to her writing, [a:J. Saman|14923699|J. Saman|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1469461168p2/14923699.jpg] takes my breath away when she casually throws such lines within her books. There are flashbacks, something I love about second-chance romances, and each and every one of those scenes is beautiful, be it the writing or the emotions behind it. I could feel Grey and Fall's pain throughout the pages.
His presence is summer. Warm, inviting, comforting, glorious. [...] His absence is winter. Dark, barren, and cold. Endless.

How can you not fall in love with that writing? Especially the pain that Greyson has gone through in his life and still being his sweetheart self. Nope, I'm not saying it's all sunshine (this book is hot and steamy af).

Grey and Fallon's escapades come to a brief halt though, and there's ugliness because of her ex and her parents but the happy ever after makes it all better.

It never ceases to amaze me how two people only can also carry the story forward like this! And with more things being resolved than only the basic happy ever after made my heart so full.

There are two epilogues. The second one is Callan's story in the next book, which I didn't read (I won’t be able to peacefully wait for the next book otherwise).

4.5 stars.

This book was great! Greyson is dubbed as a bad boy rockstar, yet he is nothing like that at all. He made some mistakes as a teenager, which made others — namely, Fallon’s parents — hate him.

Throughout the story, Fallon is very unsure of herself and what she should do. She’s been best friends with Greyson, but has had to keep their friendship a secret from her parents. When some truths come to light, she runs off to Europe. Greyson sees that as his opportunity to spend some uninhibited time with her — at least for ten days.

They way Greyson took care of Fallon and relentlessly expressed his feelings was so swoony. He was hurt from her leaving before, but he didn’t give up on showing her his love. He was such a sweet and thoughtful man, always putting others first and not letting fame get to his head.

So, here’s a quote:

“I f*cking love her. It was love at first sight for me and it hasn’t stopped. What I feel for her is rare. It’s unique. It’s survived years of starvation and still owns every piece of me.“

I really enjoyed this book and can’t wait to see what’s next!

IRRESISTIBLY PERFECT By J. Saman

When I was fourteen, I fell in love with the girl next door.
My best friend’s sister was off-limits to me in every way.
I was the bad boy, and she was the good girl. I was the kid with big rock star dreams, and she was the princess with her entire life planned out for her.
We were impossible from the start. Even when she’d randomly show up at my concerts and we’d spend a night or two lost in each other it would always end in goodbye.
Years later she’s back in our city.
Only now, she’s engaged to the last guy I’d ever want to see her with. So I do something crazy.
I never expect to hear from her again until one night she takes me by surprise.
A drunken phone call and suddenly I’m racing through the airport to catch her plane before she takes off for Europe.

"That fu*ker poisoned your mind. Let me set it straight. His chubby or fat is my fu*king delicious. Is my fu*king heaven."

Greyson Monroe is a rock star who has been in love with his best friend for as long as he can remember. Fallon is everything that her family wants her to be, no matter the cost. Grey has one week to prove to her that he's worth the risk.

I absolutely fell in love with this book from the beginning. I loved the writing, the story, everything. I think we have all had those moments when we lost ourselves for the happiness of others and some times the moment you realize that you're not living for yourself is one of the most terrifying realizations you can ever have. Fallon realizes this and Grey is there to be her biggest cheerleader, no matter what that means for him or his heart. I devoured this book in a day and I can not wait to read more from this author.

Tropes/Content: MF, friends to loves, close proximity, second chance, unrequited love, dual POV, standalone, rock star, pediatrician

Thank you J. Saman and Valentine PR for the ARC in exchange for my honest review!
