Ok I can genuinely say this was not a book for me. I randomly picked this up without looking too much into it. I just wanted to listen to something with teddy hamilton, that was probably my mistake.

This could potentially be a great story for some but it literally touched all the tropes I am not a fan of.

Insta love - MMC practically falls in love with FMC during that first one-night-stand

I did not expect this story!  It was so much deeper than I thought it would be.  The Promise is the story of Jude and Lex; it is such a good story.  In the beginnings I found Jude annoying, and then I had to remind myself of her background.  When the plot delved deeper into her upbring, I just wanted to cry for her and wrap her up in a hug.  There was so much more to this than just romance and spice.  Though it is a short novel, there is a lot going on; all of it intriguing.  I'm patting myself on the back for picking it!

I loved this sweet tale about a slightly broken Jude finding the one thing she was running away from. She might have not expected Lex and the series of events that led to them falling in love, but if your going to fall, do it for a guy like Lex! He helped her in so many ways, and she saw what had been inside him all along but never had a reason to come out. I loved Jude, so vulnerable yet incredibly brave. Alot going on in her life in her background, I just wanted to bubble wrap her lol. I fell in love with Lex's whole family and can't wait for the next one from this great writing duo.

This was my favorite of the series. Lex was very likeable alpha male. He was sweet and so protective of Jude. Jude was strong despite the religious trauma her up bringing brought her. Narrators we’re both great and brought a lot to the story. Teddy Hamilton is one of my favorite male narrators.

I lost interest the moment he kept referring to her vagina as "her channel"

I’m kinda bummed I didn’t like this book as much as I enjoyed the others in the series. Seemed much more outlandish compared to the others.

This series keeps throwing me for loops and this is my favorite book in the series. The second Lex reappeared I was looking forward to his story. Love at first site is something you don't see happen very often but for Lex and Jude defy those odds. I loved seeing characters make a small appearance from another series.

Sweet, swoonworthy alpha...my oh my!

After book 4 I was excited to read Lex's story, but at first, knowing this was a secret pregnancy book I was a little hesitant to read (honestly one of my disliked tropes) but I needn't have worried because oh my heart Lex was the biggest sweetie, all alpha and protective of his girl from the moment they met.
I absolutely loved this story and getting to see this different side of Lex. It was as with the rest of the series great to see the previous characters and I fell in love with them all more. The whole secret pregnancy thing could have irritated me, but the promises and love Lex showed made it super sweet and made the story touching. The steamy scenes were great as well and honestly, I have to say this is one of my fave series ever.
Can't wait for book 6!
