I liked this book and most definitely would’ve given it a four but there were some parts of the book that just pushed me to 3 that I won’t say so I don’t spoil it for anyone I loved how Merikh & Raewyn balanced eachother out so well this book was major Grumpy x Sunshine and I lived for it this was the first time I’ve ever read a book where a main character was blind and I kinda loved it the way she leaned towards him and he guided her was beautiful i can’t wait to read the next books in this series and this book was a happy ending with no cliff hangers and no love triangle or cheating it was definitely spicy🥴😏my goodness very spicy very aggressive very rough😏🤭this book has some parts I didn’t like but it mostly called to me I loved it right along with the other ones overall i rated this book 3 stars⭐️⭐️⭐️

This series just keeps getting better and better. A Soul to Guide was as lovely and spicy as the rest of the books. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I love that I share my middle name with Raewyn, even if it's only one of her nicknames. I love how smart yet ditzy she can be, and that she doesn't let her blindness stop her. She's the perfect balance to Merikh’s pain and anger, since it really is just armor to protect the giant teddy bear he actually is. I wouldn't have been able to resist trying to heal him if I were in her place.

It was also interesting to learn more about the Duskwalkers' origins, the Elven realm, and how the demons got in. I wish I could live in Nyl’theria because it sounds like a wonderful utopia, even with the demons. 😅

Another absolute banger. I love the way Opal writes, her romances are so incredibly well done, her sexy scenes are 10 freaking stars, her well rounded characters, the love and effort she puts into the diversity rep, all of it. Delicious. I found myself reading the last chunk of this book slowly because I didn’t want to finish Raewyn and Merikhs love story. I also love how different each book, duskwalker, and bride has been.

I loved everything about this book. Definitely my favorite out of the whole series. Merikh was so lovable and the enemies to lovers romance was tantalizing. Be ready to fall in love with the characters.

AMAZING!!!!! i dont how opal keeps doing it, but i am just head over heels, OBSESSED with this series. this book took us to the elven world and i thought that was really cool. i love the ongoing plot in this series and seeing how it builds and develops with each book.

i absolutely LOVED raewyn - she was such a badass. i truly think opal did a great job at picking her sensitivity readers for raewyn's character, as i feel the BIPOC and disability rep were done very well. and merikh??!?!! I LOVE HIM SO MUCH. he truly is that sza snl song that's like "i want a big boy, give me a big boy..." he was the grumpiest grump, but god, his backstory had me crying my eyes out.

the only reason this isn't a full 5 star like the rest of the books for me is because there were just moments (very briefly!) that i was pulled out of the story and/or bored. otherwise, i loved it and i cannot WAIT for the next installment!!!!

⚠️: violence, death, grief, blood, injury/injury detail, bullying, confinement, xenophobia, body shaming

My favorite in the series so far!
As always I was blown away by the writing of BIPOC characters, and I loved that we got a blind FMC! You can always tell so much research and time goes into these books, and I am always so impressed. This is a perfect example of what it means for a character to actually be the race they are written as. So much thought was given to Raewyns' relationship with her hair, and how she maintains it. I also loved getting to see more of a backstory and lore for how demons came to be.
Merikh is the smartest and most cunning Mavka, and his relationship with his family was heartbreaking to read. At the same time his interactions with Rae and how he hunts because of his intelligence was scary brilliant. (Also all of the smut in this book is just GRADE A CERTIFIED GROUND BEEF)
I really loved getting to read about magic and how different the Elven realm is to Earth. I can't wait to read more about it, and I would love another in the series to take place there!
My favorite part about this series is the overarching plot line we get, and how different each book is from the last. Hands down this is my favorite monster romance series! Always spicy and never boring, I can't wait until the next book come out! Is it too much to hope for a Latina as the next FMC?
