This book was AMAZING.
From beginning to end. It was hard to put down. It starts off with a bang and almost never slows down.
The book is told in two parts that switch back and forth by chapter. The present-day is told from Morgan's POV, the past from Nicole's.
Morgan is standing on the platform waiting for her train to arrive when a woman hands her baby and jumps in front of a train. Besides adding a baby this opening scene totally reminded me of the opening to Orphan Black and that description had me sold and did not disappoint.
Nicole's chapters deal with finding out she's pregnant, a secret from her past and the worry it brings.
I don't know what else to say without spoiling things.
I felt anxious as Morgan's tries to figure out why Nicole handed her baby to her.
I doubted and felt Nicole's paranoia at the same time.
So GOOD

Unfortunately, this one didn't work for me. I found one of the main characters pretty unlikeable, and her decisions throughout the book were maddening. I'm quite willing to suspend belief for thrillers, but this one was over the top. The ending was fairly easy to predict as well, which isn't always a deal breaker for me; it felt clunky here though.
I'm definitely in the minority as the reviews are generally quite positive for this book.

Ok I finished this book in one day! Yes one day! I snuck in reading whenever I could! A woman standing at the subway hands her baby to a total stranger tells her to take care of her and then jumps in front of the train. Nicole Markham CEO of a very successful business. Recently had a baby and she’s suffering from anxiety and her thoughts keep going back to an incident that happened in her past, she fears she cannot be a great mother to her new daughter Quinn. Morgan Kincaid is dealing with the death of her husband and the mess he left her in. They both find themselves at the train station that fateful morning. When Morgan finds herself holding Nicole’s baby wondering why would this woman jump? Soon she finds herself possibly being charged with murder because the police believe she pushed her, Morgan decides to investigate this woman’s life and what led her to jump and how is she connected to this whole ordeal. Someone lurking in the shadows wants morgan to leave things alone, soon she finds her own life is at risk. What she uncovers will have you turning the pages and will leave you shocked! Five stars!

When you pick up this book, you shouldn't have any plans for a while. This is a gripping thriller that makes you question your trust in the people around you!
I love that you get straight into the action at the train station. From then, you start the learn the story surrounding Nicole and how Morgan gets involved in trying to keep the precious baby girl safe.
The only thing that kept me from giving this a 5 star was Morgan during the middle of the novel. At first I feel sorry for her but she begins to seem unreliable. Fortunately she redeems herself later in the novel and becomes likable again. Very wonderful ending to a brilliant psychological thriller!

You know sometimes you read a book a few years after everyone else, and you wonder...WHY didn't I read this earlier? This was one of those books. I loved it. I loved the dual perspective. I loved that I had no idea who the bad person was until Samantha wanted me to. I loved the twists and the turns. Definitely read this one if you haven't already!!

Literally in the first chapter, we meet both the main characters and witness the way their two lives collide.
Morgan has had her share of troubles in the past. A fraudulent partner that commits suicide has left her estranged from friends and family, childless and lonely. Nicole seems to have it all - CEO of a successful business, great friends, loving husband, and pregnant with her daughter. Told in dual timelines, we see how Nicole unravels, and this inadvertently leads her to Morgan, and to thrusting her baby into Morgan’s arms before she jumps in front of a subway train. While Nicole may have thought she was leaving her daughter in the best hands, she unknowingly puts both her daughter and Morgan’s lives in danger…
This book could not be stopped. I was so invested in both timelines, and couldn’t wait to see how the lives of these two women ended up tangling together. The suspense of waiting to find out why Nicole committed suicide and gave her daughter to Morgan, and the suspense of Morgan dealing with being a suspect in Nicole’s suspicious death and investigating herself to try to clear her name kept me turning pages to the very end. I had my suspicions about who was responsible for terrorizing both women, but it still didn’t take anything out of this book for me. Highly recommend if you’re in the mood for a thriller you just can’t put down!

Very intense thriller!
A stranger hands Morgan a baby, begs her to take care of her, and then jumps in front of a train. The rest of the novel is spent exploring what drove the baby’s mother to make that decision and what happens to Morgan in the weeks afterward.
I adored the characters, especially the two main women. Everyone seemed familiar, as if I knew their personality already. The twist was one of the options I had considered, so I wasn’t terribly surprised, but I did like that there was so much doubt that I did not guess it for certain. The timeline and POV switching in this book was well done. I will be checking out more by this author!

Samantha Bailey did not hold back in capturing her readers attention right off the bat. Morgan Kincaid is waiting on a train platform to take her home. While waiting a seriously disheveled and distraught woman grabs her wrist and demands she takes her child and love her. Right after passing off the baby the woman flings herself into the oncoming train. We later learn the woman is Nicole Layton, the founder and CEO of Breathe; a prominent women's athletic-wear clothing company in Chicago. Since giving birth to Quinn, Nicole has been distressed to the point of her seeming unhinged. H
Well that's what Morgan tries telling the police. The problem is no one believes her. There's no evidence to show Morgan didn't in fact shove Nicole form the platform. You see Morgan's already had her run in with this police force before. Not too many years prior she was questioned about her husband's, who committed suicide, involvement in fraud. Many lives were ruined by her husband; and her being the wife clearly she had to know what was going on. Morgan also desperately wanting a child of her own didn't help the police look anywhere but her.
This story is a fast past tale of love and lies. Once at the end you mind will be left spinning trying to play catch up.
