Typical, average PNR. Non exciting story and characters. Perhaps I just wasn't in the mood for a PNR? But after you've read a couple of Midnight Breed and Black Dagger Brotherhood series this stuff all becomes the same.

Things you will need to read this book:

1. A Suspension Of Disbelief hat. You need quite a bit of SOD to read most fantasy/paranormal books, but this one requires a touch more than usual. So get yourself the amazing SOD hat and it will help you through those tough times.

2. The patience of a Saint. This is needed for all the time leading up to and including you finding out exactly who/what the heroine is. It is alluded to, it is hinted at, many wrong guesses will be made until you are literally shaking the book and screaming, "JUST TELL ME ALREADY!". If you can't get hold of the patience of a Saint I can recommend the patience of a Nun, the patience of a Shaolin Monk, or the patience of one of those guys who make those little ship in a bottle thingies.

3. Some heavy duty make up and concealer. If you are planning on reading this book in public this is an absolute must to cover up all of those blushes. Yes, this book is just as hawt as the last one.

4. And finally, you will need....to pre-order the next book! Because although this book wasn't quite as engrossing as the first one (I gave it 4 but really it's more like a 3.75 compared to the first one), this is still a very classy, well written paranormal book and any Paranormal Romance lover would be remiss not to add Dianne Duvall to their shelf. I certainly will be reading the next instalment, Phantom Shadows, when it hits the selves October 2nd, 2012.

Ami isn't much for trusting strangers. She has a hard time trusting anyone. But she's no coward, and she's no pushover in the protection department either. So when she comes across a mysterious warrior taking on eight deranged vampires on his own, she doesn't hesitate to save his bacon. Of course, that was before she realized what one little rescue would get her into . . . Marcus Graden has been an Immortal protector of humanity for eight hundred years, and he's not interested in backup. From the moment Ami arrives in his life, he can't deny that she's strong, smart, and extremely skilled at watching his back. But she's also destroying his protective solitude and stirring desires he can't bear to awaken. After all, whatever her secrets--how can she defeat death itself?

AMAZING SERIES-- I love this story- these characters have become my friends. The writing is extraordinary. The plot is intriguing and I always listen in one day.
Ms Duvall makes it feel like Immortal Guardians are just as real as you and me.

Immortal Guardians #2:
Amiriska & Marcus
Forced proximity
I have been WAITING for Ami’s story ever since getting a glimpse of her in The Lasaran and I am not disappointed. She has got to be my favorite heroine in the series. I can’t see myself liking another FMC more!! Also I can’t get enough of the conflicts, world building, and the complexities of the characters. I want to dislike Bastian because he’s an asshole but also…. I can’t!! I’m connected to all the side characters, even the surrendered vampires. I’ve never felt so much camaraderie in a vampire-based series. The romance is gorgeous but one of my favorite things about this series is that there is romance but it’s sooo much more.

I really liked this one. I think it was better than the first one. I understood about Amy before Marcus did and I didn't need to be told. I don't understand how he could have missed it for so long. Anyway, there were still some weak points with the book, just like in the first book, but it was very enjoyable and there were some really happy moments that made me cry, which is a good thing.

This series is really enjoyable! I really liked the couple in this one. I have to admit though, when I read the description I was really disappointed. I totally thought Ami and Seth were going to end up together, but it all worked out in the end. I laughed multiple times during this book. The couple is also slower moving, which was nice to see. There’s some good action, intriguing storylines, and good world / character development.

This book took an interesting sci-fi/military turn that I wasn’t expecting. I think it was handled well though and I’m still excited to continue with the series!
