This wordless picture book about a dog and her ball was cute. The pictures tell a clear story for an older age. My main complaint is that I feel like the drawing style might make it challenging for a really young child to understand what is going on.

Wordless picture book. Watercolor type illustrations. Simple story of loss and friendship.

Hmm. A cute book, but not what I would have picked for the Caldecott.

The boys liked this one, and I hope to read it with them many more times. The moment the other dog gives a new ball to Daisy was confusing for Max (age 4.5)--"Daisy took the blue ball from her!" (wrong!) In general, he needs as many messages as possible about selfless giving. :)

Am absolutely brilliant wordless book. Perfect for little kids who are interested in exploring emotions and understanding the facial expressions that these are associated with. A story about love and loss and healing all in a few, perfectly illustrated pages.

Nicely drawn. This would be great to read one-on-one with a child, letting the child tell the story to you.

Expressive watercolors and a simple story that's easy to follow, this wordless book is good for preschool and primary students.

Loved the simplicity yet clarity of the story. The artwork wasn't quite as I'd hoped but was very clear in displaying how Daisy felt, so ultimately did it's job.

A colorful, fun wordless picture book. See why it won the Caldecott
