Interesting and well written story - the switching between years and characters worked surprisingly well. I liked the weaving in of themes of politics, loss, and gender inequity in addition to the love story.

This was a new to me author but Iran in the 50s, such an interesting topic. I always love learning about other cultures and a coming of age in Tehran just adds to that. A lifelong love story grabbed me from the very first moment and had me rooting for Roya and Bahman. The Stationary Shop should be on your radar and on your tbr if it isn’t already.

Beautifully written and a fantastic story. It is a tearjerker, so be forewarned.
