This was a really good mafia romance, actually quite sweet if mafia romances can be sweet. Leah and Nico had a very unique meet cute but sparks were definitely flying from the start. The story was fast paced and full of steam. I really enjoyed it.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I realized that I have become trash for Novellas and I am totally okay with that.

This was my first time reading Cassie Mint and she did not disappoint- so much so that I have already ordered the next 2 books in this series so they can be at my fingertips the moment they come out.

There is something really sweet about this story between Nico and Leah. I loved how they met in the beginning- typical mob story, he gets stabbed, stumbles into her shop to get patched up, but this story was anything but your typical cookie cutter mold in terms of mafia romances. I really liked how Nico was not the don or even the right hand man of the don- he was someone who was just extremely loyal to him, which was refreshing and a take I feel that we don't see very often. I also really enjoyed the slow burn tension between the two main characters and the smaller details that were paid to their story- the threat, the daily life, etc. All of the pieces were beautifully woven together and moved the story along seamlessly. Plus the spice- let's not forget that the slow burn led to some wonderful spice that is extremely swoon worthy!

Highly recommend this very easy read (under an hour if you are not interrupted like I was...what I get for reading at work) with heat and a really cute happily ever after.

Really enjoyed this short little Mobster story.  Loved that the female was Leah who worked in a bookstore and falls for a Mobster, Nico.  Like a dream.

Leah is closing up her bookshop one night when an injured man knocks on her door. Against her instincts, she lets Nico in, he’s been stabbed he’s calling his doctor instead of an ambulance… fishy.
