That fourth act is soooo long and, as with most Shakespeare, benefits from been seen and not just read, but THAT START! THAT ENDING! wow this play never fails to bring me to tears

My least favorite Shakespearean play of those I've read so far. It bored me, although it may be more that the romance subgenre of the comedies bores me. I'll try it again eventually, though.

3 stars only because Hermione gives a great monologue during her trial. She is one of my favorite female characters that Shakespeare's created. Finally.

I had to knock off a star because Florizel's speeches were making me throw up.

Very Greek. Very clever. Makes the women look good.

I find this one of the tougher Shakespeare plays to follow but it's enjoyable and everyone does love that little twist toward the end, don't they?
