Feminine rage. Shadow daddy. Court intrigue. Steamy steam. Fake dating. Mystery and betrayal. AND YOU THINK I WOULDNT EAT THIS UP?
I must read book two immediately, k thanks.

For me it's one of them books...I would just love to read it anew not nowing the story!! I just fell in love with Bastian. I mean OMG he is f*cking gorgeous. And even the story around the romance was somewhat new and interesting. I definitely enjoyed this book.

I died from second hand embarrassment too many times reading this book

But it was also unintentionally the funniest book ever- literally the fmc was picked to seduce the mmc cus she had red hair… they were all like “faes can’t resist you cus you have red hair, faes love the color red” LIKE WHAT!? What kind of dumb reasoning is that? Then the mmc was all like “oooooh red hair, my down fall

This is the best book I can't finish. This review is mostly a note to remind myself to come back to it one day, when I'm in the right head space for a main character who is so beaten down by the world and trapped by the rules of society and the way men treat her that she is being torn apart inside, and when the whole story hinges on deception and head-against-heart. Because the writing is wonderful and I LOVE Bastion but phew, this feels heavy.

I’m torn between a 3.5 and a 4

Lots of interesting topics to touch upon in this 600 page book and yet I remained entertained for most of it even though we could’ve taken 200 pages off without affecting the story.
