Every time I reread this series, I fall in love with it all over again…

i wanted to love this series, but unfortunately. this was one of the most boring books i've ever read. i hate when the main character is absolutely dull and just watches as the action happens instead of actually doing something

Definitely liking this more than TMI. I don't get how people like Will so much though? I frankly think he's a bit of an ass. Maybe in the next book I'll grow to like him some more. I was definitely leaning towards Jem. I really likd Tessa as well. Things are looking up!

upon research and reading some reviews, i have learned that this is either based on/just straight up IS fanfiction. harry potter, to be exact. and while i have a lot of respect for fanfiction writers, (after all, some of them work really hard to put out gigantic novels for free) the conception of changing some names and getting it published as your own, (see after, fifty shades, a lot of things vampire-y, etc) rarely works out. it makes for some bland characters and pissed off readers.

HOWEVER.

in the little bit of this i've read already, it seems like this could stand on its own two feet. granted, it was the mortal instruments that was a draco x ginny fanfic to start, not this. we shall see as time goes on.

the good thing about audiobooks is you get to pay more attention to the story than the writing. i think this will work in cassandra's favor.

I loved this book tbh :)love the characters and yeah was just fun to read, I thought it would be boring / hard to relate to because it’s set in the Victorian era, but I was proven to be wrong.
